  3. 1980's but clarinet was free and for one year I had a bass saxophone - to much for me in the end so gave up on it- the thing was huge.
  4. and I'd catch a train in her situation - single woman unsure of where to stay "The government has asked people to avoid public transport if at all possible to help customers maintain distance with limited capacity, and keep the railway for those who need it most. If you need to travel by National Rail please try to travel Off-Peak, keep a 2-metre distance from others, use a face covering, and carry hand sanitiser or wash your hands."
  5. Left luggage ? https://bagbnb.com/luggage-storage/leeds I used victoria left luggage so much as a student ... and black bin bags carting things around.

"The new fines, introduced on Thursday, can be imposed on anyone who refuses to follow a police instruction to go home if they are in a gathering of more than two people - or conducting themselves in a way that will increase the likelihood of spreading the virus to others." LOL but who makes the left wing message we all follow, who is this world leader ? I suspect I can guess who it is.
  8. Talking of a Labour Government - Blair has been going on about ID cards again but this time globally and digitally to help recovery from Covid-19. https://www.thenational.ae/world/tony-blair-calls-for-global-digital-ids-to-drive-recovery-from-coronavirus-shutdown-1.1031262
  9. Is this the Egypt equivalent of the Express ? I'm sure I didn't hear anyone say this. "As the debate in Britain over the demolition of the pyramids raged" you what ! https://egyptindependent.com/british-anti-racism-protestors-call-for-destruction-of-giza-pyramids/
  10. A review of London statues is to be done - and some are very outdated anyway. Is there an argument to remove all the old ones to museums even though it would change the City. deleted rambling bit about cones :)
  11. According to the Standard pubs are due to reopen two weeks earlier than planned on June 22, https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/uk-coronavirus-live-latest-updates-boris-johnson-lockdown-a4462191.html I really don't think this is set in stone - yes in small print "if a group of six Cabinet ministers dubbed the "save the summer six" manage to persuade Boris Johnson." - I don't think they will.
  12. Drinking at the bar will be the last bit to come back. We'll all have to walk in, sit down and be served (rather continental) for a while at least.
  13. Seems a lot of chat around on the statue, there's been controversy about the Bristol one for years without resolution - I remember it being debated 20 years ago. The Bristol Mayor says he'll likely retrieve it from the sea in time (I guess maybe quite a while) and possibly put it in a history museum and what happened to it will be part of it's history. What should happen to the plinth is a question going forward - maybe leave it as it is today ?.
  14. you look at the link and you see it was done with Professor Angus Dalgleish so you google him and ... it doesn't mean it's wrong so we await the peer reviews. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/shortcuts/2016/feb/09/ukip-cancer-europe-angus-dalgleish-brexit and "Whitehall sources reacted with dismay to Dearlove?s intervention, the latest in a long campaign of briefing aimed at justifying a lab leak theory pushed by the US president, Donald Trump. They reiterated they saw no evidence to justify the claim by the former MI6 boss." https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jun/04/hackers-targeting-uk-research-labs-amid-vaccine-race-gchq-chief
  15. Candace Amber Owens Farmer (born April 29, 1989) is an American conservative commentator and political activist. She is known for her pro-Trump activism ...
  16. "On 10 May, the UK Government announced its phased plan for lifting lockdown. In a 50-page dossier, outlining details of the plan, it listed the businesses and ventures which must remain closed for the time being. These include holiday accommodation, specifically hotels, hostels, B&Bs, holiday rentals, campsites and boarding houses. There were some exceptions to the rule, however. In some instances, the previously listed holiday accommodation could remain open, such as: In the situation where people live in these places as interim residences whilst their primary home is unavailable, or they live in them permanently." University accomodation office should know this and help. https://inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/hotels-uk-open-when-holidays-british-latest-news-lockdown-rules-430480 Here's the government sute with the same advise - it's up to the hotel then I suppose. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-advice-for-accommodation-providers
  17. Anyway Google Maps has updated the position of Edwards Colston strange it appears and disappears - how have they done that.
  18. I sort of remember that Dominic Cumming wanted to create chaos to overthrow the rule based order and institute a new one. Is he now rubbing his hands in glee or has it gone wrong.

In "Watchmen" which starts with the Tulsa massacre those who were treated badly get tax concessions (it's a parallel type universe).
  20. @edbird That's OK - I'm one of the worst at expressing what I think seriously, so I know it comes across like my posts are very trivial sometimes :)

  22. UncleG just cheered me up a bit :)

OH - Lay off I didn't criticise any poster just said we all are allowed to post or shall I go back to Gwlad.com. Check the longest thread on the forum (I don't write on it) as ther is no bandwidth issue or server issue on here.
