  1. Yes - Saving a few hundred a month - but jobs much less secure if you work so no big splurge in spending by those benefiting (although I see many have invested in things that keep exercise/leisure/work going at home)
  2. Ahh b****r it - Cameron's failures are too numerous to be documented but he still was a better PM than the current one.

Yet Blair's big failure was nothing to do with politics and all to do with war (and he came across as enjoying it to some). Cameron's failure was Brexit (oh yes and austerity which we now seem to all agree was not needed).

  5. Before social media we had gossips :) There were some real ones back at home in the 70/80s - popped in and told you all the rumours - not good stuff either.
  6. It is a toxic argument - not one you get into without knowing what you are saying.

  8. @Glinner has followed her - transphobic stuff which some would say has been coming for a while.
  9. Lovely BLM advert on Sky News/Sky Sport at the moment
  10. Actually what do the images in the news (see the video from Ogmore in S Wales) remind you of from TV https://www.itv.com/news/wales/2020-06-26/two-men-detained-after-mass-brawl-and-large-crowds-at-beach/ I don't even need to say.
  11. The thing about teenage tearaways is they call you everything under the sun but if you say they have a big nose it upsets them for days :)

  13. On twitter they said on June 19 there was a problem with the phone lines "Hi, we've been made aware by Tessa Jowell Health Centre there may have been problems with the phonelines. Huge apologies for this. Please do try again, or use http://tessajowellgpsurgery.co.uk to contact us via eConsult, or souccg.tjgp@nhs.net for email"
  14. We went through a phase where bins had to be clear and you could see what was in them (due to fear of bombs being put in them I think). Not sure what the current way of thinking is.

  16. As long as they do their posing in the Lounge.
  17. Not this Saturday - and the pubs effectively mean you have to book. I see a damp squib and disappointment. So no pub hopping - isn't that the fun. It'll be like NYE where you're stuck in one pub with once a year drinkers :)
  18. WFH for a long time now and it'll be for the foreseeable. No problem with the noise but this heat is too much for me - Looking forward to normal temperatures. Heat seems to make the whole place look and feel dirty - not sure why.

  20. they all went to this Block Party in Brixton ? What is a Block Party anyway. Seriously - it had pictures I think.
  21. It's UK wide apparently #virginmediadown Memes are being made (poor virgin this is bad for them)
  22. Just saw what happened in Brixton last night - not sure if that would create issues in ED/Herne Hill/Peckham
  23. 2000 "middle management" job cuts announced today.
  24. snoopy17 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > when this happens, does the card come back out > after you have walked away? It's the loop scam - so they pull it out I think. If you leave your card in a normal till accidentally it'll be swallowed after a few minutes inactivity (it happened to me). You can pause transactions from your phone on many accounts these days.
  25. I used to shout at people to "SHUT UP" from my balcony but as my voice is like Windsor Davies it just woke everyone else up who wasn't already awake - so I stopped.
