I have no intention of dying yet and that's a few years yet :) Everybody else can go out and about - I'll be a late adopter on this.
  2. Yep - Hancock on Sky News with Kay Burley talking about Quarantine. She kept on asking who are we trying to keep out that's worse effected than us and he came up with Brazil. "So other than Brazil ..." Travel Bridges are a two way thing unless you are Rome.

  4. seems to depend on whether they brought them from the royal mail or somewhere else (article a little old) as they could be breaking the terms and conditions of their agreement with royal mail (but not the law). https://becleverwithyourcash.com/corner-shop-stamp-rip-off/
  5. I practiced with a bandana over my mouth and nose at home as I know I'll re-adjust and fiddle. It's cotton so the feeling of not being able to breathe is not real and goes as you get used to it.
  6. Antifa are a movement https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/06/what-is-antifa-trump-terrorist-designation (my point being you can't ban a movement)
  7. Yes looks like a lot of people will be looking closer to home - I was looking at north devon but thinking autumn - even november (i don't like wall to wall sun anyway).
  8. Covid-19 re-introduced into NZ by the British - it just doesn't look good to the rest of the world.
  9. I think even a basic deal with the EU might not be compatible with a deal with Trump. We also need to keep the promises made in the withdrawal agreement which I'm not sure we're planning to.

  11. I'd rather a painting than a statue if I had a choice - but I won't get either LOL. Signed
  12. That one made snopes yesterday - maybe getting on there is the aim https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/captain-america-coronavirus-pandemic/
  13. When the Place of Westminster is basically gutted in the next few years, I wonder what will become of the statues. Parliaments own website admits many don't really fit there "However, the commissioners won the day, and the original statues in the Palace's interior thus bore little relation to scale, style and floor-space of the building they were destined to decorate." https://www.parliament.uk/about/living-heritage/building/palace/architecture/palace-s-interiors/statues-in-palace/ The Welsh and Scottish parliament buildings are pretty modern affairs and pictures of the new HoC seem similar. Anyway statues are a bit old fashioned when we can have large screens with changing images :) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48199355

None of this will help black > people... none of this will help anyone. Be careful not is all as it seems sometimes - for instance Little Britain want a new series on Netflix and so are aiming to start with a clean slate. We also got rid of TV like "mind your language" and "the black and white minsterals" years ago so it's nothing new (I guess people will deny that the first one even existed it was so dreadful but it did) Statues also get removed to museums regularly as the public forgets them - it's just been done quietly before. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_public_art_formerly_in_London

NewWave Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > All lives matter. > In my ideal world there would be world peace where > no one suffers due to colour or creed. > We are all equal we all feel pain and all deserve > love and compassion. > One love one world But some have suffered in the past more than others and we can't ignore history. Some still are suffering more than others but you can't force equality and peace on the world through war (to some extent Blair tried that through liberal interventionism and I think it largely failed)

  17. I don't mind a good conspiracy theory as long as it's not mainstream it reminds me of alt.alien .visitors on usenet before anyone else got on the net - good times :) But looks like QAnon are going to get their first congressional seat so there is a danger here. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2020/06/10/a-qanon-follower-may-win-this-us-congressional-seat/#f73c9b43d02c

Really why write your own fundraising portal for what you do when off the shelf ones that can be trusted exist I guess
  19. It all goes back to Luther Blissett from what I can tell and playing for AC Milan :) https://qz.com/1349858/what-does-qanon-have-to-do-with-leftist-italian-authors-wu-ming/
  20. If Bill Gates is such a dangerous person should we all be using Windows :)
  21. You don't know whats been said at that days team briefing (maybe the security guards were told to keep their eyes on the queue or not to pester customers to move along quickly). It's easy to think it's something about us when it's actually something about them :).
  22. Looks like it wasn't a committee - just what writings became popular in the early 80s and was just one of many different kinds of privilege discussed. https://www.newyorker.com/books/page-turner/the-origins-of-privilege

  24. The old gang is back on the coronavirus broadcast (Boris and Whitty - no lawyers allowed) so I think things are returning to normal especially as we can now form bubbles. Edit: Valance is the other one who's back, although Whitty is putting something nasty on optimist's chips today.
  25. How dare you say that about Ulrich Warnke, his mate in the Circular Society Carsten Sudhoff will tell you what you can do.
