    Heresy?

Are people really going to put an app on their phones made by Palantir and Faculty. I usually tend to leave bluetooth disabled anyway. https://bylinetimes.com/2020/04/22/palantir-coronavirus-contract-did-not-go-to-competitive-tender/ https://www.digitalhealth.net/2020/04/nhs-partners-with-tech-giants-to-develop-covid-19-data-platform/ https://www.economist.com/britain/2020/03/26/palantir-a-data-firm-loved-by-spooks-teams-up-with-britains-health-service
  3. I don't believe in IQ or intelligence per se There's a lot more that makes up a person than solving puzzles - which in my view can be quite easily taught. Some people who did badly at school do brilliantly in a different environment later. Hitler had very little emotional intelligence IMHO however - probably due to his history.

Mind you like other things it's a poor persons/overcrowded housing issue. It shows the role pubs play (good or bad), I notice many (more well off) people on twitter have designed and built their own bars during the lockdown (in the shed or spare room) and it's a thing to show them off. https://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/Article/2020/05/04/What-were-beer-sales-like-in-pubs-in-March-2020

This doesn't fit with the people I've known who have died where they may have been ill and had been ill for many years but they were hanging on in there - then COVID19 finished them off - but who knows if they would have lasted 3, 5 or 10 years further ? Where do you draw the line - we all have a death day coming ?
  6. I think some people actually thrive in lockdown (I read that there are a proportion who's mental health improves under these conditions for various reasons) - of course it all depends how much space you have. Beginning to think it maybe me as I'm alone, can set an exercise regime, get things done I've put off for years, drink less etc.

I've never had the misfortune of opening a bad egg :)

I see your point but this isn't variant of flu and there's a lot we still don't know about it. we are quite lucky in UK as we can see what happens in other countries as we leave 'lockdown'

    Praise be

The EU is planning on using the force on Monday https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/content/may-the-4th-EU-COVID19-fundraiser/
  14. 26th May being bandied around as a possible first relaxation of the lockdown
  15. Here's one straight from the Kremlin as a space filler in the Sun and as Porton Down is real close to where Novichok was found so it must be true :) https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11190739/russia-blames-britain-coronavirus-skripal-novichok/ and even worse looks likes they nicked it from the Mail and its because of Brexit https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8120505/Russia-blames-BRITAIN-coronavirus-outbreak.html "The pandemic was intentionally timed with Britain's exit from the EU to enhance its global status"
  16. Watching Hunters but still not sure. It's fun to watch in some ways but some of the politics (operation paperclip part) worries me - but isn't it meant to be based on a true story. Put Heathers on whilst doing 30 mins on the exercise bike - WTF - was that how it was a originally written :)
  17. binkylilyput Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hands up who has a garden, balcony or outside > space? > > Yep, thought so Balcony - but I hate the Sun (newspaper too) and prefer overcast and drizzle - always have - not sure if that means something - certainly wouldn't sunbathe. It actually annoys me when weather people refer to sunny weather as if we all look forward to it.
  18. A plan is obviously being put in place across schools, work, recreation, leisure and policing. A lot of synchronicity. I notice conversations are happening between the Government and Keir Starmer to so maybe it'll be cross house. "Gavin Williamson has said he expects schools to be "opened in a phased manner" - with a decision to be made on the guidance of Sage. " "the Government is observing other nations who have begun to open schools again. " "The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) said the Treasury?s multibillion-pound coronavirus job retention scheme needed to be made more flexible to allow furloughed staff to work reduced hours." "Sunak dropped a clear hint on Monday that the scheme could be tweaked to allow for such changes. Speaking in parliament, he said ?gradual refinements? were a key part of the government plan to end lockdown measures." "Britons could be limited to two or three drinks when pubs reopen, a government adviser has suggested." "Home secretary Priti Patel has said the virus is moving into a "different phase" and with that there will be "different measures". She said restrictions and in action in place are "under review", as she addressed the home affairs committee. " "But if some areas are loosened next week, others may be tightened up,? the official said."

Unfortunately the more secrecy the more people will believe in conspiracy theories. We're slamming China for initial secrecy but then suddenly our government goes quiet - I can see why that makes suspicious people wonder.

    Heresy?

We had a minute of silence for those who died doing key roles today. Well observed from what I could tell.

There seems to be no information on > the cases or any tests done that connect cases > with sars2cov, if so, this should be told. They have said it could be a different pathogen although unlikely. This is actually an urgent warning to Doctors that has been picked up (unsurprisingly) by the general public. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/apr/27/what-is-the-new-illness-affecting-children-and-is-it-linked-to-coronavirus Sometimes this reminds me of AIDS in the early 1980s where no-one really knew much at all and the worry is this is the start of an upwards curve of new effects of the virus.
  23. Reach took over the Express and have purposely kept it as it was. Extremely pro-brexit (unlike Reach's main paper The Mirror), pretty reactionary and right wing and it even predicts snowstorms all winter assuming one day it'll be right. Almost as if Desmond never left.
  24. As SAGE is secret, TV is what we have to go on (If you want that to change allow us to see the minutes). Ominous whispers and secret meetings reminds me of AIDS in the early 80s. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/coronavirus-children-illness-nhs-doctor-warning-health-alert-a9485441.html To be honest if we start saying such as there may be multiple pathogens are out there then the conspiracy theories will become more attractive.
