  1. I go to the guy in the dry cleaners next to the post office on lordship lane. I've had several airs done and all have lasted well.

If a home birth doesn't appeal, you could try to get in with one of the community midwife teams. They come and check you at home so you only transfer in once you are in established labour, so those early stages can be done at home. Worth getting on the waiting lists as people do move house etc and spaces can come up at the last minute!
  3. Collect plus has been pretty good too.
  4. eBay have generic raincovers, have you looked on there?
  5. I have a whistles donny parka which I have worn to death. Not technically waterproof but has always kept me dry. Needs an extra layer in snowy/icy days. Now have their waxed parka which is warmer but shorter, and better hood.
  6. Hi, Have you seen edtots? A website with a summary of the local activities. (It is the right place to post btw!)
  7. I think camberwell leisure centre run classes.
  8. I think there has been a thread in this but can't find it. I need a thermos type travel mug that is utterly spill proof. I need to be able to close it and stick it in the bottom of the pram and not have it leak! Does this exist?
  9. Ok good luck Strawbs. Fingers crossed it improves things.
  10. We are planning to get nicola in but are waiting until a few things settle down. Probably when I stop bf will do it. We never cracked our first though he is coming right now he is nearly 3. Won't manage another 2 years of night waking so will seek help with the 2nd. I think when you are really tired having someone to help you is worth the money if you can spare it. Even if you have to repeat the steps yourself when you are back from hols, at least you will have had some sleep stored up.
  11. Thanks everyone
  12. There is another provider, baby jumble, will try and dig out the flyer I have somewhere
  13. ps i know i should just go to the sling library but i don't think I'm going to make it!!
  14. Ive got 3 slings and thinking i need a new one. My youngest is 7mo and quite chunky and long of leg. we use a beco gemini with him but increasingly I'm thinking i need something that supports his thighs better (the beck is slightly narrower in the body as it allows you to have the baby forward facing) we have an ergo which fits really well but i don't like the hip carry option on that, i find it uncomfortable. i tend to carry him on the hip mostly so was wondering about a scootababy or hipseat, something along those lines. Or would something like a manduca be better... any advice for hip carriers?
  15. Maybe she means the shops further down?
  16. And if you genuinely want parents feedback why don't you ask them direct?
  17. I think a few nursery lists are mismanaged to be honest. We didn't get offered a place at one despite being number 2 on the list.
  18. Also try wedding shops which sell vintage gowns. You never know, you might find the perfect one there!
  19. I think get a double. If you did need it, then it would suck trying to sort one out with 2 little ones. Wait for one to come up on the Edf/gumtree and get it, Then you A) use it, very glad you had it B ) don't use it because you didn't need it, sell it for close to what you paid C) don't use it cos you don't get on with it, so sell it and buy something that suits you and your kids! I bought a new double and then ended up buying another one second hand that suited us better. Am now happy with single pram plus buggyboard/sling but I couldn't have coped with that in the early days and my age gap is bigger than yours!
  20. Or if you are handy you could make your own from pul fabric (the stuff that modern washable nappies use?)
  21. Has anyone tried gnappies ? I bought 2 in impulse as they were on sale in ocado but confusingly they didn't come with any absorbent bits!?
  22. Great news! Hope you all got some sleep after that.
