  1. You poor things. Does he like the sling and / or the pram? One thing that always stuck with me is that babies don't really form habits until around 3 months. So do whatever it takes to get through for now. Would it be worth getting some help in? Can you take it in shifts to ensure you get a few hours sleep each? Will he take a dummy? (Just in reference to the constant feeding) The other thing is they really do change quickly so you might not have until 3 months to wait for an improvement. And do see your gp. Ask to see someone who does newborn checks.
  2. Belle the comment about seeing in the bath... In the book I'm reading they use the bath as a pre training thing, eg getting him to wee in the bath, into a cup, etc. It's 'potty training boys' by Simone cave and Caroline fertleman. I'm planning. To follow it at some point when my son shows more of an interest.
  3. We have an appliance cupboard with sockets on the bottom. So the bread maker is plugged in and you just need to pull it out a bit. It's not big enough though! If I had my time again I'd extend out further, get under floor heating, and have more cupboards.
  4. Mine will definitely still be in nappies at 3. He just isn't interested! I expect he will get more interested once he restarts nursery... As he responds well to positive peer pressure. A break sounds good.
  5. Yes, I think it helped soften things up. I think I had 3 sessions. Problem is you can never know whether you would have gone into labour anyway!!! In any case it also helped massively with pain relief during my labour, so I would recommend you go for it. (If you want to use for pain relief your birth partner will need to cone and learn the points.)

  7. Creation station are really good and running over the hols
  8. Hi, I like tots bots. I'd recommend you do the questionnaire at the nappy lady who will recommend brands to try. Definitely try a few and find what suits you. I personally think 2 part systems are more reliable but all in ones are easier to use, so I have both!
  9. Just some sympathy here. Mine isn't that bad (yet, he is younger than yours!) but we do have difficult moments. I just wondered if some kind of (very experienced) mothers help would be beneficial? I don't think I could do bedtime myself, am planning to see a sleep consultant to help us with our sleeping here, but it takes 1 of us for each kid. My son behaves differently for others than for me. Perhaps this could break the cycle, or at least give you a break!
  10. yes, edf, ebay and gumtree all good. ebay does take a cut so i prefer the others!! but for stuff thats more unusual i think you get a wider audience.
  11. The scout but in Bellenden road?
  12. What do you mean by open it up? You make the dough in the bowl with the dough hook. Then you put it through the attachment to roll it out, so it's sheets like lasagne, then when it's thin enough you put it through the one that cuts it into strips. Hope tha makes sense!
  13. Hi, we have an attachment on our kitchen aid which works really well. If you have a mixer it might be worth checking if they do an attachment.
  14. Hi, no it's the cot, the middle size. We have just removed a side panel. If that doesn't make sense I will try and post a pic later.
  15. Hi, it's the stokke one, he isn't busting out of it but I think in a few months we'd need to be switching him out. I like to plan in advance!
  16. We have one 2.5yo and a baby, We have just taken the side off the toddlers cot and it's gone well but he suddenly looks enormous in it. So we need to work out the next step. The options seem to be... Toddler bed? Seems the most appropriate but short shelf life, though our 2nd could use it at some point? Full single? Look even further ahead and buy a bunk bed or something similar? He is a climber so we would need something that wasn't set up as a bunk to begin with, just for safety reasons, unless he couldn't get up there. Other site seem to recommend getting doubles but we don't have the space. Long term we plan to keep the kids sharing a room for at least a few years. If you had your time again, what would you do? Thanks in advance.
  17. just resurrecting this thread as we want to go camping in september. other half wants to drive to france but i want to stay in england, so I've got the challenge of finding somewhere as good as the amazing family setups we encounter in france. so, ideally on a campsite with animals to look at, with kid stuff to do nearby, maybe even a heated pool nearby... help! kid in question is a toddler. edited to add we have a small camper van rather than a tent!

  19. We went for Hayes galleria, there is also a fountain. Amazingly, I convinced my son that if he ate enough lunch the fountain would start up again.... It worked!
  20. Thanks family room these are all just what I need x
  21. Should have said.... With 2 kids!
  22. Off to meet an old friend in London bridge and then we will head to a restaurant, historically we always went to carluccios type places. Can you recommend anything like that near London brudge?
  23. Hi Matt, There is loads of stuff on recommended nurseries, so a good start is do a search for recommendations though I'm sure people will also add thoughts here. You can pay between ?1000-1800 per calendar month for a fulltime nursery. Most are closer toe ?1200-?1400. Make sure you are registered for childcare vouchers at work ASAP as this saves you money. And get on the waiting lists ASAP! Don't wait until the baby is born. Good luck!
