  1. Thanks everyone Pickle, I haven't properly tried it on my own. He is quite happy when he wakes to just hang out until I notice he is awake so I'm hoping he will go down ok. I never cracked naps with my first!
  2. Hello, Any ideas on how to do this? My son (2.5) won't leave me alone to do this. If I leave the room he will follow me within 5mins max even if given the option to come first and then left watching mister maker. The really crappy thing about it us that my baby shows signs if being a good sleeper but no one can fall asleep with a toddler saying HELLO! YOU AWAKE? So, upstairs in his cot.... How? In the living room... Some kind of canopy so I can keep my toddler distracted while shush patting? Any advice welcome.
  3. We use a camelback one as we both have adult ones and it helps for him to be 'just like daddy/mummy' sometimes
  4. Thanks everyone! My geeky budgeting salutes you. Also editing the title as it's govt not council x
  5. Thank you! Does anyone know what the hourly rate it's based on is?
  6. hello if you have a child in nursery, they get funded hours from the term after they turn 3. i think its 17 hours pwk, term time only. does anyone know what this equates to in terms of money? thanks
  7. We are thinking of a sticker chart, has anyone used thus successfully?
  8. Sorry actually he dies ride in it at home! But not when travelling I meant.
  9. We've found ours to be really good, our son us a but younger though and we've used it since 10mo-2.5 including long haul. It doubles as a toy box at destination so he knows exactly where his stuff is. But I think a good backpack or wheelie will last you longer given her age. (We have almost never used it as a ride on toy, so don't buy it for that!)
  10. You could immunise? I'm not sure how long after exposure this is effective though.
  11. I was going to post similar to scareyt - in some ways location trumps a lot of other factors!
  12. I'm with the 'fairly harmless' gang I had a makeup kit when I was about 5!
  13. As you already like micralites, how about the micralite twofold? Options of second seat, large bag or buggy board with extended wheelbase?
  14. I think they have a deal where they are getting new buggies from somewhere? Worth checking though.
  15. Really feel for you knomester. Is it worth posting on a bigger site like mumsnet?
  16. I would love a utility room but we def don't have the space. I think good storage is more important personally.
  17. I think there is some truth in that. He had a huge nap yesterday and then slept all night. We have moved his nap earlier and that us working better although it mean lunch is pretty much disappeared, so it's snacks all day.
  18. Sounds brilliant! Look at tour group guides for ideas of itinerary. I also read a blog of someone backpacking around se Asia I will try and find it. Edited to say... Was very easy to find! https://adventurousalfred.wordpress.com/tag/phil-teds-wriggle-wrapper/
  19. We went to Thailand and Cambodia with a 10month old but that was for a couple of weeks, so we stayed in hotels. Are you thinking of roughing it? We used exotissimo (sp?) who were brilliant.
  20. Well it was def on today! Edited for typos!
  21. I hope so, I'm due to go! Do you have Julia's email address? If not I will PM it to you.
  22. Yes you will love it. Take bubbles and plenty of bubble mix. Even if it doesn't rain, the grass will be wet in the morning so waterproofs for the kids are handy. I also take a super warm coat, hat and gloves for the cold night around the campfire! And I second the duvet rather than sleeping bag.
  23. Thanks everyone for your advice We have decided to try shortening the nap and will see how it goes! Sg, have cleared some space, sorry about that!
  24. He is 2.5 yo I wonder if I should try cutting the nap shorter first? I really don't think he can go the whole day yet...
