  1. We have the duplo one. I know that might not be quite what you are after....
  2. Another for GK barbers.... They are very patient. I go first thing before there is a queue!
  3. What about a different night next week? No time like the present.... Etc I promise to come and with luck it won't be just you and me scoffing all the biscuits. Ok, me. The distinction between positive and natural is a good one. I mentioned to someone today at work I am trying hypnobirthing and they said 'oh no we want drugs' I tried to explain the 2 could probably co exist fairly comfortably but not sure I really made any sense!
  4. Yes I second the activity centre / jumperoo idea. WW had a playpen briefly for containment but he only liked it if he had company (ie us) which defeated the purpose!
  5. Maybe a graduates group for post birth....!
  6. I would. I'm due with my 2nd and not planning on nhs or Nct this time around. I'm doing hypnobirthing this time around but it's an intensive course so something more regular would be good.
  7. The other ergo and the brio for me.... Have pm- d you!
  8. I wear mine. I felt self conscious until I got used to it, and I think the main reason to wear it is so people who will offer a seat, can offer with confidence ie def know you are pregnant and not just bloated. So, if you do find you need a seat at the moment you should definitely wear it. Sitting down when you need to is better than feeling faint and crappy or worse actually collapsing. If i dont ask, I tend to get a seat on the tube about 80% of the time I reckon. The train almost always, the bus almost never!!!
  9. Our son isn't a great sleeper and we went through a phase of sleeping on the couch in his room with him. He doesn't need us to do that any more, so it's not forever, and if it works it might just help you to get enough sleep until this phase settles? The advantage was being able to just go 'shhh shhh I'm here' sometimes rather than having to get out of bed etc. The couch in his room is very comfortable btw - more like a single bed - I think this is crucial! It wasn't the same situation, but it might work? In the meantime, I'm sorry you are suffering, sleep deprivation is awful. I hope things improve soon.
  10. Ah, if its the seat, rather than the back rest. Is this just when you unfold it? Yes, a bit of clicking is normal. Just double check you have the seat attached properly and I wager its fine. Don't stress! Have a good holiday.
  11. Maybe check the base has been out on the frame properly?
  12. if its audio description... i think this is an option you can turn off.
  13. I think I saw a generic one in jojo maman on the weekend, you could call them and check to save a wasted trip?
  14. The bra shop in the group of shops by fabric 205 is good. (I have been there lots but cannot remember the name- sorry!) The fitter is the lady who used to be in ed warehouse. She stocks Freya plus a few other brands which go up a larger cup size.
  15. Hello, I'm sure there was a 2nd babies thread but I can't find it to link to! I'm also due in feb with my second. Won't finish work until end jan so not sure when we can meet!
  16. Have you had a look at bestbuggy.co.uk they do lots of comparisons of double prams I looked at the select but ended up getting a promenade off the forum. Hoping to not need a double for long as they are huge compared to singles!
  17. I did the workshop 2 years ago and found it helpful, like what etta describes. It can't hurt, if you have the time!
  18. I use mio fresh plus a tiny bit of my normal detergent
  19. The glamourous side of pregnancy: aching legs and veins starting to come up. I'm only half way too. Any recommendations for support tights / other tips? I'm wearing flight socks today but I can't wear them for long, plus they only help below the knee.
  20. I love this blog and she wrote a post on the pros and cons of each, not terribly indepth but pretty much sums it up! http://www.pregnantchicken.com/pregnant-chicken-blog/2011/4/2/cloth-vs-disposable-diapers.html
  21. Lots of goodadvice above. A nappy wet bag is a good alternative to a bucket as well. And microfibre nappies dry more quickly. Eg I use tots bots easy fit v2 but the v3 is microfibre so dries more quickly. I wash twice a week, and second the advice to buy secondhand initially so you can sell on if you decide not to continue with them. I also plan to use bamboozle stretchies with my 2nd from birth, these dry very quickly if hung near a radiator, you need space to have an airer up where it won't be in your way though!
  22. We have started using one, though I suspect he is a bit too young at not-quite-two. Thought it would help as a nightlight until he understands, it's very bright though, even on the lowest setting. Hoping he will get used to it.
