  1. Ps I wish I could have his nap. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  2. I think my toddler is starting to drop his nap. Apart from being totally gutted about this, How do I know is is really ready to drop it? He has never been a great sleeper but usually a short or no nap in the day results in a disturbed night. And does no nap mean an earlier bedtime (in your experience)? Any advice welcome.
  3. Doesn't work for us, but you know that! I'm trying not to worry about it with my second x
  4. If you want dinner, then franklins or Palmerston is lovely for a treat! We stay local on nights out so that we get maximum date time vs travel time but then we are too poor for taxis!
  5. I hope you get it back. The bike shop in Ed sell bike locks which double up as pram locks.
  6. Ofsted have listened so far, they have shut the nursery!
  7. I agree with woo88. As a parent I need a safe place for my kids for when I return to work and I'm doing everything I can to make that happen. In this case I believe it's working with the nursery and ofsted. If there are incidents to be reported then please do so through the proper channels. The EDF can't fix it and neither can the daily mail. If you don't want to call ofsted then email the nursery or pm me and I will fold it into what we as parents are doing. It's our kids involved so we aren't going to sweep anything under the carpet.
  8. Same here, the other thing we did was a sheepskin under the sheet. 9. I agree, you have nothing to lose. I benefitted from the breathing more than the visualisations and there is time to practice that!
  10. Let's run a vote. I vote Miele! Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thank you everyone! 11. Hello, I'd rather keep it off the forum - parents very welcome to pm me their email addresses.
  12. Funny you should say that... I am messaging the parents I know and who have posted here, but please pm me if you are interested in supporting efforts to work with Oak Tree in improving/rectifying/keeping them open. Thank you (Edited because I did the quote wrong) > > I too hope it's a precautionary temporary measure. > If that's the case, perhaps the proprietors might > even benefit from help or advice from a few of > you.
  13. Admin, please can you close this? Apart from being a duplicate thread, it's really nastily put.
  14. I think this is the wrong, wrong, wrong decision. We haven't has a call yet NG but I suppose will be getting one. I hope it's temporary so that they can make required changes and reopen. I am incredibly sad for my son who loves his nursery.
  15. No, I think they took way too long to respond but I think they would have communicated it out. I'm glad you posted though. The problem with an immediate meeting is there isn't much to say beyond what was in the email, so I don't know what it would gain. If there is a meeting in a couple if weeks for example then the can update us on progress, plans, take feedback on other things, etc. I can't speak fir other parents but we have made suggestions directly to the nursery eg re the gate as mentioned above.
  16. I don't think media interest adds anything. I thought the story was unbalanced... It implied they don't care that the little boy escaped and they do. Could they not gave waited a few days for a response, especially given ofsted were there and take priority over the news? Etc... I'm glad parents are being supportive.
  17. Currently use large plastic bags but I'd like something that we don't have to get into the loft for and also that's attractive enough to be on display. Eg kids clothes - with 2 boys 2 years apart, plus winter/summer clothes etc I'd like easy access to the clothes to pick and choose what I want to bring out rather than have it all on their drawers. We have a wardrobe with space on top, no under bed space. So ideally something freestanding, not too ugly, not too expensive! Any ideas / how do you do it!
  18. I agree... It feels like a mistake has been made which now jeopardises the nursery and several jobs. The next post will be the revised ofsted report I suppose? 19. I think the nursery are taking this very seriously. I don't think they deserve instant closure. They need to be monitored and work with ofsted and parents to rectify things and restore confidence. I think you never know what you would do until you are in that situation. For me... Given we've been there for a year and my son us happy there my plan is to give them a chance to rectify the security issue and then see how other smaller issues pan out and see how we feel after that. There is a temporary additional locl etc now so I feel he is safe. There are some very good people working there and I want to give them a chance.
  20. We nearly got a Henry but it didnt score brilliantly on which. Neither does dyson! Miele cat and dog scored well... But at the last minute we went for a dyson stick vacuum cleaner. It cleans really well and us super easy to use on stairs etc BUT only 26mins charge so you cant do the house in 1 go.

  22. It's not that mysterious, really! You just assemble the bottle a bit differently add water and it means you can sterilise in the microwave without a separate steriliser. Ack, I'm not making sense... Anyway, sorry your boobs hurt and hope the specialist can help.
  23. I went to one if these, it was by appt but all the stuff was laid out. I'd be interested, I need clothes for 2+ boy. So yes, great idea, maybe do a few days or let people arrange times to come, that way you don't have loads of people in your house at once.
  24. I have a mam bottle you can have, it's self sterilising Otherwise if you want to buy them, I think sainsburys stock an avent starter kit
