  1. I am really shocked by this! Does anyone know what the obligations are of the nursery to inform parents?
  2. I work in w12 and it's between 50mins and 70mins. I'd rather handle the commute and live where I want to, than move closer to work. Super easy to meet people here. I've been here over 10 years but made a lot of friends when I had kids... Many via this forum!
  3. I like BOOB ones. Really simple openings.
  4. You def need a living area you can stand up in, is my contribution. And if in doubt, go for the bigger tent. And d-c - we co sleep with the kids on camping hols.

  6. This might be totally weird to post this, but I'm sure someone was talking about needing something like this! If you have a stroller with 2 handles and need to push it one handed.... You need this.... http://www.bigbabystore.co.uk/dooky-buggy-bar
  7. Or task a friend to do it for you?
  8. Yes, or a shared au pair. Eg they could live with one family but split time between 2 families?
  9. I am interested too. My son choked on a bit of pasta yesterday, I knew what to do but there us a lot of other injuries etc I wouldn't necessarily be confident with.
  10. We tried tescos and found ocado to be the same, and a much mire user friendly system. But we buy some things in bulk to save eg coconut milk and other bits from the Chinese supermarket, and stuff from the cash and carry. Mellors, your post is awesome, I'm copying it into my notes for when I go back to work after this one!
  11. We decided to vaccinate when my son hadn't caught it by age 2. It's expensive, about ?130 for the 2 shots, about 6 weeks apart. But I was happier with that than deliberately catching it. A very personal choice though!
  12. There is an amazing thread on mumsnet with tips on getting organised. Try searching on that...?
  13. I'm on my 2nd maternity leave and want to make the most of it. Someone on here writes a blog on days out... I cannot find the thread... Who is it, can you link please!? Otherwise any recommendations much appreciated. I'm planning to do museums etc on my toddier free mornings and would like some things I can do with toddier plus baby. Thank you!
  14. Watching with interest. Bonkers!
  15. Could the maclaren go on a holiday so it's not even an option? It could go away for Easter? Might be a crap idea as he might refuse point blank anyway and then it's no pram! When our double arrived it sat on our living room and my husband pretended to sit in it every night until my son wanted a turn. He is pretty open to being persuaded like that though. Bribery works for us too.
  16. Hugely glam topic, but our vacuum needs replacing. I'd ideally like on of those cordless stick vacuum cleaners but have heard they aren't enough as your only cleaner. We have 2 cats, so it needs to be able to deal with pet hair along with the usual family debris. Thoughts and recommendations gratefully received.
  17. We are driving through France in July too! Will watch with interest... At the moment they all look great compared to some places we have stayed in the uk!
  18. I have to say i feel a bit uncomfortable with businesses advertising in thus section. I don't mind a post in reply to / as part of a discussion, but this does feel like advertising to me, Nest. Perhaps you should consider posting in the classifieds/ business section? I might not represent everyone's views on this so feel free to disagree, other family roomers...
  19. I am sure this has been done before, but... My 2.5yo needs tiring out, ideally on a Monday or Thursday morning. I'd like to take him to something a bit sporty and structured with a view to encouraging something more regular once we find what he enjoys. He likes all the usual stuff... Climbing, jumping, dancing, playing with balls. He has a kick about with his parents on the weekends so it doesn't have to be ball skills related. Any recommendations? Ps I need to be able to take the baby and watch from the sidelines, or very gentle participation....
  20. I think they must have changed the second seat. Mine doesn't have a zip. Oh well, will persevere!
  21. Yes there is a recline, but not in the newborn/toddler mode, only the toddler/toddler mode, does that make sense...?
  22. Just that really... My youngest is fine if a little cramped in the bottom but my toddler still needs to nap and the lack of recline is an issue. (He only naps in the pram, I gave up on the cot long ago) What do I do...? Stick it out until we can switch to the 2xtoddler configuration (and do I really need to wait until 6 months!!!) or buy (yet another) pram for these early months? Any advice from phil and teds owners much appreciated.
  23. We use trunki toy boxes. We keep toys in the living room in the fireplace alcove. What's nice us that it's not permanent and you can easily pull them in and out, we have duplo in one, trains in another, toy food in other, etc. Then a shelf above for bigger trucks etc. Not super stylish but I think it looks nice and we could clear it out quickly if we wanted to return to a kud free space for awhile! What I would really like is a wardrobe sized cupboard with a roller door so everything could magically disappear at night but we don't have the space! Agree the gltc stuff us lovely though!
