  1. Exactly Otta! It's these loud posh types who think it's acceptable to be anti social if it's something they enjoy. These are the very same people who are quick to judge when I'm swearing at someone on the phone or having a barney with him indoors. Louisa.

If you want a good deal on them, a drive down the A303 towards Stonehenge this time of year is bargain basement for these delicious fruits. Every other lay by has a farmer with a tent selling punnets at very good value for money prices. Might cost a bit in petrol though. Louisa.
  3. Inkmaiden that would be fine, if only the staff seemed equipped in providing help to those who don't understand. It seems to me, the majority of staff just sit behind the scenes doing nothing (to the untrained eye at least). It isn't professional in a customer fronting environment IMHO. I would much rather this bank had the modern refit most other branches have now had, which provide electronic banking facilities which those in the know can easily use, leaving the rest of who don't understand to wait patiently in the queue for a cashier to help us. Currently we have people clogging these queues up who might want to deposit a tenner or get a balance print out. Unbelievable. Use the cash machine! Louisa.
  4. I don't about the 'Iceland eyesore', but the current vacant unit, now for well over a year, doesn't exactly rest easy on the eye in my book either! If these bloody people could get a move on that would be helpful. Even I have noticed the collapse in noticeable footfall since the closure of Iceland. Louisa.
  5. 'Z' daytime tv hosts and presenters. Louisa.

I am happy to inform you Otta that the ready salted variety are still available. Selected websites, including the one below can deliver them to you. http://www.chocolatebuttons.co.uk/chipsticks-ready-salted-48-packs-per-box.html Louisa.
  7. There's just no excuse for it. And I hate to sound like a broken record, but certain young incomers seem to be the main culprits. They are treating a residential neighborhood like some sort of party venue. If the same sort of behaviour went on in the Home Counties towns and villages they hailed from, the locals would be up in arms and they would be in trouble. No one says you can't have a drink and laugh, just keep it down after a certain time and use some common sense behaviour like pre-warning neighbours and only doing once in a while rather than every other weekend. Louisa.
  8. I haven't been in for a while, but whilst visiting today I couldn't help but notice how terribly long the queues were and the fact that one of the regular cashier booths had a seperate queue of people (presumably paying in large amounts from small businesses?). I timed my wait, and from the moment I stepped through the door it took me 37 minutes to make it a cashier. This has to be unacceptable surely? I've raised this with them before some years ago, but nothing seems to have changed. They weren't short staffed either (at least 6 members of staff behind the counter but only 3 tills open). This branch also lacks the modern facilities most refurbished branches now have, such as personal banking machines for paying in cash and swopping money between accounts, paying bills etc. Please sort it out Barclays. Louisa.
  9. Hi selondon, We put the AstroTurf on hold after doing some research. Am still up for the idea but a word of caution. There are very many different grades and qualities of AstroTurf and if you wish to have the authentic look, it won't come cheap. Even the best quote we had for out relatively small outside space that needed covering, came to in excess of 900 quid. All the usual garden centres and places like B&Q, Homebase will provide a fitting service but it does come to a fair bit more than if you did the work yourself. You could easily save yourself 300/400 quid. But then the complication comes with the sand and soak away underneath. As a recommendation (and I will be doing this at a later date), the Polhill Garden Centre at Badgers Mount near orpington offer a great service and are very friendly, chatty and full of information to get the best out of any quote you wish to go for. I'll probably head there once we do go for it. Louisa.
  10. A grape shop that specialises in grapes only and weighs them for you so you don't have to accidentally walk away with a handful more than you should do! I'd like to be named "Louisa heard it through the grapevine". Louisa.
  11. So a loose product is sold by the 'weighted' price in a supermarket, no barcode given on the product which you bag yourself. And yet, it is the customers responsibility to put the product in their basket and hope the till staff can guess how many grapes are in the bag?(seeing as they do not weigh them as they should at the till?). Bizarre logic. All products should come with a barcode, unless they are loose fruits and vegetables which are WEIGHED. Louisa.

They don't put the pre-filled bags > there for you to add to at your discretion!!!! As I clearly said already, these bags of grapes do not come with a price tag on them. They are simply open bags of grapes which contain seemingly variable amounts of each bunch in each bag. You then take said bag and put it into a small plastic bag from the roller, and take them to the till to be weighed. They are priced by the kilo on the sign. However, whenever I have gone to the till they ALWAYS charge the same price, regardless how many grapes are in the bag. Louisa.
  13. If a supermarket sells pre packaged fruit that has a labelled price you pay THAT price at the till. If a supermarket sells WEIGHED bags of grapes WITHOUT providing WEIGHING machines then they should do the weighing at the tills, and then add whatever that weighed price is to the bill. If I wish to put more grapes in my bag because said WEIGHED bag isn't as full as I would like it, then it is the responsibility of the supermarket cashier to WEIGH that bag at the checkout. You cannot blame the customer for adding more fruit to his or her basket when it is open so you put it into a plastic bag for them to weigh at the end. Unbelievable. Is no one on this forum allowed a moment of joy? Or is it everyone except me and the fox who are allowed to be happy? Louisa.
  14. How is filling up a half empty bag with more grapes, theft? They should weigh them at the tills anyway! (Or out a labelled price on them and out them in a plastic vacuum packed bag). Louisa.
  15. When you go to lidl (other supermarkets are available) and they have the weighed bags of grapes and you can fill your half empty bag up with grapes from other bags and still pay the same price (because they never weigh them at the till). Louisa.
  16. Yes it makes me happy! What else would I have to talk about. It's a sort of, happy angry thing. Contentment almost. Louisa.
  17. Ignorant posh sunbathers in various local parks (especially goose green), who take up an entire space with their offspring shouting loudly and giving me a headache every time I walk across that footpath. Louisa.
  18. Hi P68, is this the small one with just a handful of tables? In the small parade of shops? I've driven past a few times but the exterior hasn't set my culinary tastebuds alight, but if you can personally give me a recommendation I'll happily try it with friends. Louisa.
  19. Foxy do you know if any of the local curry houses specialise in Nepalese cuisine? This Asian cuisine is often underrated and many generic curry houses offer a limited range in regional food. Is there one particular curry house which does specialise in Nepalise cuisine or which can make off-the-menu dishes for people? Louisa.
  20. As much as I love a nice curry, I am baffled by the number of pizza and curry based restaurants within the vicinity whilst we are still lacking a decent Mexican place. Someone needs to pull their finger out soon and get a wrap/burrito specialist into the neighborhood. Louisa.
  21. I'm fascinated and confused in equal measure over this fox/sue conversation. So there were two conversations about different things? And the confusion comes with which one was relevant here? Louisa.
  22. Peckham and Dulwich have so many historical ties that it seems odd how officialdom recognises where boundary lines start and stop. I know that from Goose Green playground running along Adys RD north to Oglander (and roads coming off to the right) it comes under SE15. However, many estate agent websites claim that roads as far north as Bellenden come under East Dulwich. Louisa.
  23. I wouldn't let those lot enjoy one of my nice finger buffet spreads. What a waste of good party food. If they come back again they can drink tea/coffee and watch me drink wine. Louisa.
  24. I am all for a finger buffet first mate. Few egg mayo sandwiches, mini sausage rolls and scotch eggs. Few celery sticks and some dips. But not had one of those since a family funeral in 2007. Louisa.
  25. Behave yourself rah or you'll get sent to the naughty step! Louisa.
