  1. If dog poo is your biggest worry, then you are a very lucky person. The forum is to help people with advice, ideas etc about the area. Venting your speen on the forum about someones dog doing a poo is not helping anyone. Either say something to the person at the time or pick it up yourself. Otherwise, I couldnt give a $hit ...
  2. I had the person in question pop around on Sunday. They are legit, but seem to only sell frozen produce. I guess it depends if you are happy with the price offered: the quality seems ok.
  3. I propose there is a separate "dog poo" discussion thread. These posts are getting just a little tiring.

I can always be grateful I am not a QPR fan.
  5. Maybe check the forum before posting.
  6. I thought Foxy lost it a while ago ;-) "Prat is apparently from Middle English prat, from Old English pr?t, pr?tt (?trick, prank, craft, art, wile?), from Proto-Germanic *prattuz (?boastful talk, deceit?), from Proto-Indo-European *brodno- (?to wander about?). Cognate with Eastern Frisian prat, Dutch pret (?fun, pleasure, gaity?), obsolete Dutch prat (?cunning, strategem, scheme, a prideful display, arrogance?), Low German prot, Norwegian prette (?trick?), Icelandic prettur (?a trick?). Related to pretty.
  7. I just thought I would point out a blog that has been started by local resident Ben Brooks-Dutton following the tragic loss of his wife last year: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,997393,997771#msg-997771 http://lifeasawidower.com/ I find this quite inspirational in many ways. He is working through a tough time by sharing his thoughts to try and help others. The support he is getting from the public is fantastic, and people are really opening up to his thoughtful words. Great work Ben, you are such a strong and wonderful person. My thoughts go out to you and your son, but he is a lucky boy to have such a great father.

I am far more concerned about police cutbacks than worrying about a few days of slippery pavements every year.

Isnt this a part of everyday life all around London? Its nothing particular to ED ... Slow news day.

Errrr.... trinas > perhaps????? Well, a few tasty treats would be nice while we all waited! http://www.trinasdelicacies.com/ Maybe a coffee too? (sorry)
  11. The good thing with the roads is the snow has started falling in the day - meaning more traffic on the roads to melt the snow. The issue will be overnight if the snow continues. Tomorrow could be a different story!
  12. Its only heavy snow that effects the roads. Early and late 2010 were examples. The 40/176/185 buses have trouble getting up/down DKH when there is heavy snow / ice, but are diverted through Peckham if this is the case. Based on a few inches, you wont see any material issues on the roads. However, trains tend to fail at the first dusting of snow. It hasnt snowed yet, so I wouldnt worry too much until it happens.
  13. On that basis, there will be a constant spate of burglaries all across London. The sky is blue. Next!
  14. I prefer this: www.police.uk Stick to facts - the numbers are actually coming down. Best to use the information as prevention than making lazy statements to scare people!
  15. JT76 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ^indeed. a real spate of burgalries going on in > SE22 at the moment Really? Based on what information?
  16. If we can hear the churches in Glasgow and Sheffield, then it wont matter where you live in ED!
  17. If you check the recent history on www.police.uk, you will find reported burglaries have actually been coming down in the past 6-12 months. For instance 45 (2012) v 62 (2011) in November.

The passing traffic I imagine would create more noise than the events in the church!
  19. The light dusting of snow this morning doesnt seem to be stopping the buses.
  20. I love postcode banter.
  21. Peckhamites always have to point out the great things about Peckham. People from East Dulwich dont need to say anything.
  22. On the ED side of Forest Hill (west side / northbound), there is a road you can drop off / pickup travellers. This comes off Devonshire Rd, and goes around the tree. The station is step free because there are lifts either side of the passenger bridge.
  23. I contacted Pickwick Estates many times to remove my sign, and they completely ignored me. I was not surprised, as their general attitude throughout the sale process could not have been worse.. In the end, I simply put it through the rubbish / recycling. Such a waste! I agree with James Barber's comments above - get rid of it ASAP as it increases your risk of being robbed!
  24. It didnt take long for this subject to rear its head in 2013. http://www.gspca.org.gg/page/dog-faeces-facts
  25. Its not unusual for similar businesses to lie close to one another. The average consumer doesn?t know exactly what they want: they want to buy flowers and clusters generally gravitate customers towards the area as they know they have options when they get there. It benefits all parties and should also improve the level of service (and price, quality etc). Think Hatton Gardens for diamonds, as well as electronics stores and fast food chains (McDonalds often near KFC). Another bizarre comment that ice-cream wont work in ED. If I am not mistaken, ED has alot of young families with kids ... so if it were to work in other parts of London, I find it hard to understand why it wont work here. I know its a crappy day today, but in warmer months it should be a big hit! I love ice-cream!
