    Torchwood

Well yes. Absolutely. But this was a bit different from the usual. It was very good you know. Oh and you like programmes about drugs. This was a bit about drugs, alien drugs, but drugs.
  2. Am thoroughly enjoying Me Cheeta - laughing out loud and convulsing silently on the bus (with the added bonus of often getting a double seat)

IN YOUR FACE MacGabhann - you're just not down with the cool sci-fi kids
  4. I read it the same way. I don't think there are any conclusions jumped to - if someone says she would get her husband to hit someone over the head with a camera and even goes so far as to say that she would take her child for a walk so it didn't take place in front of him, then I don't think anyone's jumped to any conclusions. Taking what Steph said at anything other than face value would be jumping to conclusions.
  5. But it don't sing and dance, and it don't walk.
  6. Now that's my kind of away day.

    Torchwood

Absolutely what Sean said, but in a "throws hands up in the air in exasperation" rather than school teachery kind of way (me and school teachers, a whole new different thing). I reported the language and I don't mind saying so. I think BBW sometimes crosses the line and this was one of those times. BBW, you must have known that the language you were using was offensive and it was unacceptable. But James, you know what? I hadn't read it until after 1pm today, and I really doubt that other people had either - just me and the sci-fi geeks. Edited for unnecessary shouty capitals.

    Torchwood

James, I'm unconvinced this is double standards. I rather think it's more the case that people are uninterested in Torchwood, so didn't bother reading the thread. Agree with Mockney - it is offensive. Suggest you report it.
  9. The Bellenden Big Lunch will be in this week's Big Issue magazine
  10. You do, you do. Sorry, am in a sleep-deprived faint hysteria today and was just making myself laugh, for which I apologise. You are quite correct, pasta is not officially a main. Were they nice meatballs? I like meatballs a lot and if they're of suitable quality, may venture down there (once I've been proactive enough to look up where it is).

I had the calves liver pate for starter and > meatballs with fettuccini for main... Mick, what on earth did they make your meatballs out of?
  12. You ARE a grass. Grass.
  13. Can I be really cheeky? Some of you will know that I work for the big lunch - we want to compile some of the great stories from the day - if anyone has any to share, would you mind PM-ing me?

Me me, > look at me, I'm important!!! Social networking right here my friend. Twitter / EDF - little difference (what I bought from the shop thread...?) Twitter's a good way of spreading the word on small news (e.g. the campaign I'm working on right now) or big news (Iran - and in the case of Iran, was way ahead of the mainstream media). And as for the importance of ego - any more really than look what book I read / music I listen to, I'm really cool. Same thing, slightly different medium.
  15. oh really? :X:X:X:X

  18. ooh it has a hammam
  19. BBW, I'll join that clique.
  20. CC is a man? Derrrr. I laughed because I imagined someone along the lines of spouting serious obscenities...

    Torchwood

You'd think so Biggie, you'd think so. But this series has proved to be quite the opposite - as EDKiwi has said, these 5 hour-long episodes are darker and way more adult than anything Whovian (is that the word?) Tennant was enough to get me interested in Dr Who (and I'm a quarter Welsh so figure that counts), but Torchwood was always froth, fun, but lightweight, with the mighty purty (and wasted on the menfolk) Barrowman. BUT NO MORE. A whole new league of its own now. Bleak. Brilliant. Just Ace. Man, I'm rabid. Going to have a steak sandwich.
  22. Quids, gerneralising a little, no? Has the forum en masse denounced as BNP the views of those who question immigration?

    Lurkers thread

hahaha, I know I'm not allowed in here, but I think I've just fallen in love with nashoi (man or woman, I don't care, I just know that I love you!)
  25. lozzyloz, you're a better person than me with the emotional wounding stance - but I do believe fervently in the right to free speech. And I think there is a sort of service going on on here - if I'm having a bad day, I have something to rail against (repeated assertions of fake domestic violence claims in order to secure council housing? on another day, it might have driven me to the very brink of capital letters), on a good day I have something to smile wryly at / ignore.
