  1. Always found it strange that that despite the name they'd give you a knife and fork :-S
  2. Belated wishes Mockney - and *bob* too as I think I missed that one too!! x
  3. So happy to hear your in remission - can I reiterate the hope that you've put this in a card/note to Davidson... think people would be surprised at how thankless nursing and medical careers can be sometimes! If you think they were that fab you could even put in for them to get a Kings Chommendation (think you can get info from the PALS office at Kings).
  4. .... would be a bit of a random thing to make up wouldn't it?? Looking at the number of views/posts there are per day don't think the forum is needing to stoop to that.
  5. There's a rumour that Nick Hancock did one of his teacher training placements at my old secondry school. There was a girl in the year below me who's now a Britney Spears impersonator: Lorna from the yr below me - 'fraid I'm not in touch with her (before anyone asks!).
  6. Woo-hoo!!!!! Congratulations - happy to share a few recommendations from our's (fab band I know for the reception :)))

If the only thing I had to worry about was opening a set of doors the right side, on a station I'd no doubt been through countless times I'd be laughing. As Torben suggested, if it worried them that much why have they only mentioned it now, no doubt knowing the new equipment is being rolled out. I really don't have much sympathy with the RMT. They throw their toys out of the pram way too often and it all becomes a bit "boy who cried wolf" for me.

  9. looking through the info - can't believe the judge's ruling was based on what seems to be an inflated definition of the word "bogus"... really hope that sense is regained.
  10. ....because it could limit the amount of work done.... I still live in hope of crossing his path one day... like SOMEONE did!!
  11. thought they were too small for llamas - alapachas maybe (prob not spelt right!)
  12. Happy Birthday Ally Cat... think I managed to be the first to wish D_C birthday wishes on the way home last night, but happy birthday again! x
  13. Sorry to hear that MM, think Kings completely bucks that trend - our new(ish - he's been in post over 6 mths) CEO has come to us from British Telecom!
  14. The paper's not great, but that Brian Myerson bloke could do with a sharp gnome where the sun doesn't shine!!
  15. .... Oo, and I taught Chris Morris basic life support!
  16. I was a guest on Dermot O'Leary's R2 show not long after it started - he's lovely but v cold hands... his show was being slated on the R2 forums at the time and don't think we helped improve it... he doesn't have listener's on now!! I saw Glenda Jackson once but resisted the urge to go up and tell her how fab she was as Cleopatra (with M&W!) as I was working and it might not have been appropriate!
  17. ... Congrats to D_C, and thanks to all for the lovely comments about my wedding... have been bit rubbish and only just noticed them on here!! :-$ Looking forward to seeing everyone Friday!
  18. Cinque Terre in Italy is lovely and a bit different - lots of lovely little trattatoria's and costal walks Cinque Terre
  19. ... wow, that's really good - looking at the other categories this area did really well, Dartmouth Arms and The Hob as runners up in gastropub and music venue, and the Ritzy being best neighbourhood cinema - feel quite lucky to live round here!!
  20. Got a feeling Barry won't be able to help with train times/overcrowding - surely their run by a different company to the ones running the stations?
  21. Have just returned from Africa and spent a few days in Zambia on the Zambezi so was right on the border. We were told and saw how Zimbabwe's loss was Zambia's gain - the displaced farmers have been welcomed into Zambia and are becoming successful, and as we went to the Victoria Falls we saw a queue of Zambian's waiting to go over the border to sell food/products on the black market (for US$'s - apparently the Zimbabwean currency isn't used at all). What saddened me was meeting someone who lives in Harare and said life wasn't too bad as long as you weren't political - suppose is partly self preservation, but don't think I could stick my head in the sand about what was happening around me.
  22. ....come to latitude.... didn't see him but think he was there doing RI's book club last yr!!
  23. hmmmm, how about Earl's Court - instigating the sunday apostrophe rule.
  24. bromley-by-bow..... the name of this move escapes me but I think it was first documented back in 1963.
  25. Ahhh CC - its much clearer now!! Keef wedding is def still on - see you and annaj et al there!! As a disclaimer should add, had lots of one date wonders that I'm fairly sure had friends dispair of me and agree with Time Out being the best place to find slightly mad chaps!!
