  1. Due to me mucking up multi channel sky +'ing monday night, watched first ep last night. Really like the way the gory bits are done quickly and with funny camera work so I don't spend too much time going "eekk/ewww" and similar! Looking forward to watching more tonight and how it pans out. Especially funny having watched Charlie Brooker's Screenburn about reality TV (and the enduring friendship he now has with Asheline as a result of it - he was writing about his USA road trip with her in the guardian this w/e!!).
  2. haven't subscribed but have downloaded the occasional Richard Herring and Andrew Collins podcast and found them topical and funny (free from itunes!)... btw B3Y - beef and guinness pie went down a treat friday!! x
  3. > I guess I could complain, but I > don't know if they would listen. I did say it was > a petty annoyance after all. Every complaint has to be answered and the managers/matron's have to review and answer them - complaints cannot be ignored- for further advice contact the Patient Advocacy & Liason service (every hospital has one).

The receptionist's can only look to see how long the longest wait a pt has had at your time of booking in - if you've been at the end of a long queue to book in then yes, it might be longer for you. Ask any of the staff in A&E and they'll explain that they don't want anyone to have a long wait - if it happens its likely that there are more seriously ill pts (you know, the ones that really annoyingly stop breathing and things like that!)who the dr's have to see first off - this is why you'll very, very rarely hear any clincal staff giving you a "time" you'll be seen If you feel the care you recieved was that bad, then contact the PALS office situated at the hospital - without constructive complaints how do you think services can be improved? My petty annoyance is when its really busy at work, having to run round trying to get everything needed done despite not having full quota of staff/having really poorly patients, liasing with the medical teams to ensure we have the cover we need, and then still be talked to as if I've been sat hiding somewhere drinking tea - if only some of them could walk in my shoes for 1/2 hr!!! (that said I do love my job - mainly because on the whole things are more settled!).
  5. Just realised - will be coming from work, so downhill there, and (for once!) not working the next day - woo-hoo!!
  6. might be quicker to walk over to Barry Rd and get the 12 to Peckham Rye - as the bus starts at the top of the road normally ok for seats and is as quick to London Bridge as Forest Hil and quicker/more frequent than ED station x
  7. ..Thanks MW... bought a waterproof today so covered (literally!) incase x

So you never know... Oh Keef.... you know how to make a girl happy after a really naff shift at work :)) btw... I also use to sing "I know him so well" with a mate, I am fairly sure I can't sing for toffee, but she took it quite seriously!
  9. I have so many guilty pleasures... but this was played at future sister-in-law's wedding at the weekend and I found sadly enough I could still sing along to it (msg to Keef - it might be on the ipod but not expecting a live performance of it come March..... although bet you guys could do it really well!!) ches

  11. very happy birthday Sean... big hug to follow! x
  12. > "....fertility does not exclusively correlate with > maternal age at the exclusion of all other > factors." Yes it does age is an absolutely > fundamental factor in determining the likelihood > of having children ie younger people have kids > more easily than older people. Harsh-but-fair, what about the amount of fertility problems that are caused by endometriosis, polycystic ovaries or for the guys low sperm count? None of these are age dependent and I'm sure are the causes of far more couples needed to turn to IVF for babies than age. Maybe Harsh-and-stubborn would be a better moniker.
  13. Had a bit of a thing for Barney Rubble when I was younger... also liked Benny from Top Cat!
  14. Ski jump is tough - not as bad as the tightrope though! Will have to get on the wii fit again soon - might see what other peoples scores are before I post mine on here though!!
  15. Jessica Hynes nee Stevenson is who you're all thinking of... Cassius you've obv not seen her recently if you think she's well covered - while not stick thin she's hardly that big! Prob for another thread but Daisy in Spaced is one of my TV show characters I think are like me/I could have been!! I still have a lil bit of a thing for Phillip Schofield....

  17. use to like "stuck in the mud" when I was a kid - when tagged you had to stand still (stuck) with your arms out until someone ran under them unsticking you... felt like we'd play it for hours...
  18. I'm sure I heard GG stands for Good God... being generously proportioned can report have had that response before!!
  19. Would still use the train personally. It took us less than 40 mins to get from forest hill station to gatwick (this was about 8am in the morning on a weekday), one swap at East Croydon which was up and down slopes so no steps, and you come off the platform at gatwick straight into departures - all for only ?7 one way - don't think it can be beaten!!

  21. Me and Mr Buggie will be - were going to try and sort out a charity but wedding planning/work/being rubbish have meant we're just doing it as part of our pre-wedding fitness spree!! PM and I'll sponsor you though! x
  22. Very happy birthday BB x
  23. Might be worth contacting the surgery and explaining your concerns & what NHS direct told you - could be there's been a miscommunication or they can explain why you need to get them first.
  24. overheard as walking past that the franklins shop is due to open tomorrow (lots to do today by the looks of it though!)
