  1. As has been pointed out already by Huguenot, Loz and, I believe, *Bob*, parent & child spaces are nothing more than a money-spinner, there to attract the valuable spend of ED parents. The fact that Sainsburys saw fit to lease out 3 of the parking spaces to an Organix promotional stand should spell it out loud and clear. Yes, they make life easier for the target audience and anybody that attempts to claim a genuine grievance re: the existence of said spaces is probably a bit of a nob, but by the same token, parents with a sense of entitlement should perhaps get used to the idea that they may, occasionally, have to park a bit further away from the store than they would like.

  3. Welcome to the area. Check out: Franklins on LL for dinner and Saturday brunch/pints/papers. The Castle on Crystal Palace Road, for The Best Guinness In South London (official), cheap daytime pints, football on Sky, Irish sports & the occasional bowl of roast potatoes on the bar. The unnamed butchers at the Plough for all things meaty. The Gowlett for pizzas. The Actress on CPR for (unusual but good) pizzas and good/interesting beer selection. Can also recommend Buddha Jazz (as did Strawbs, above) but it's Vietnamese rather than Thai. Further afield: The Lido Cafe at Brockwell Park. Brixton Village for some great little restaurants including Honest Burgers (currently BYO) & Franco Manca for fantastic pizzas. Brixton in general for a variety of late nights.
  4. The Castle is open and lively. People sitting inside and out, enjoying their beers.
  5. ????s, with your constant loathing of and moaning about ED's Guardian-reading middle class, you're in danger of becoming a one trick pony. Perhaps a '????'s law' is needed; like Godwin's but for someone who brings up the lazy stereotype above in a thread. Also, Foie Gras is most definitely NOT revolting. It's rich, flavoursome and something to be savoured, in its entire form or as a delicious pate, but never ever revolting. I quite fancy some Pate de Fois Gras to go with my Picpoul de Penet this evening. Is there anywhere left locally where one can purchase some?
  6. I've never had a problem with them, other than some queuing times. It's better that they don't take your special delivery after a cut off point if they can't guarantee to deliver it, IMHO. Maybe mention it to them and see if they'll change their ways or just don't go there between 1 & 2pm, or after 16:45.
  7. Might be quicker to list what you don't want...
  8. Pedro, I asked you before but maybe you didn't see the post. Can you please share some examples of your previous work? Thanks.
  9. To echo what Mockney said about grey areas of use regarding heroin, I know personally and have met other people who have used or continue to use H on an irregular basis. They are not 'addicts' by any stretch of the imagination. Certainly they would benefit from a controlled market with a purer product as there's still the risk of buying contaminated drugs. Recreational / non-problematic use is larger than many people think. Not all H users are scrawny, malnourished addicts. (typing on iPhone so may re-edit later on at home).
  10. I'm a fan. Pretty sure if you search the forum you'll find previous recommendations by me.
  11. So what about all the people that do wish to eat Foie Gras at Beauberry House? Presumably we'll have to petition them to bring it back? And then you'll do the opposite and repeat ad nauseam. If you don't like foie grad then don't bloody eat it but don't prevent others from having the choice to order if they so wish. Irritating vegan campaigners, I care less know for your meddling politics than I ever did before.
  12. Otta, how do you propose we get heroin off the streets? Isn't that the idea behind criminalising it? Doesn't seem to have worked.
  13. Thomas Micklewright Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Although not an ink fan, I'll support this venture > if it replaces 'favorite chicken' on lordship > lane. Why? Does Favourite Chicken serve the godly Foie Gras?
  14. Yes to a tattoo parlour in ED, although it would be expensive to rent the premises. I'm looking to get more ink, Pedro, and have a very specific piece in mind. Do you have any example of your previous work available to share?
  15. Bloody hell! Well said, SJ!
  16. Cool story bro. It sounds pretty awesome. Will the same thing happen next year?

    Mugs

A 'Keep Calm & Put The Kettle On' one from one of the amazing gift shops in East Dulwich. I LOVE ALL OF THOSE SHOPS!

  19. I would actually like to meet ????, Mick Mack, Jah & Jeremy. And Sean Mac, again. Prefereably in The Castle for a Guinness or 2.
  20. And with that cleared up I can get on with some work. Bon Voyage, toomanykids!
  21. So does the OP have a 3G contract with 3 ("I rely on 3G network...") or not?
  22. Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 3G on your iPad should work - it's a telecoms > service, not a wifi one? > This. If you have an iPad 3G why would you want to pay the train co for an expensive wireless connection?
  23. Biancason, sorry to hear about this and hope you recover. Just to clarify, do you mean that you were robbed (mugged, bag snatch etc) in the street or that your house was burgled while you were out?
  24. Espresso ground Monsoon Malabar from Hasbean at home, made in the espresso machine. Between 1 & 3 cups in the morning before cycling to work. Then it's tea at work until I can be organised enough to sort out a cafetiere. People here drink instant nescafe which makes me want to vomit.
  25. I think Amazon offer tailored delivery slots, for a fee.
