The hoops allow for both wheels and frame to be easily secured, plus the design prevents the bike from simply being lifted over the post. There's a whole host of other benefits on their site. James Barber, what do you say?
  3. Never heard of it and had to google boden. Did you make it up, Snorky? Nice one.
  4. @Alex K: Franklins has been accused of many things on this forum but you're waaaay off the mark of you think it's 'poncey'. Have you ever actually been in there?

Erm, it's a place to lock your bike for a short period of time. What additional functionality do you want? It is what it is. Don't you think there's a tiny chance you might be over-analysing this?
  6. As I understand, the cyclehoops are already in use across Southwark, particularly up towards Borough and London Bridge. They've got some other interesting bike-parking solutions on their site: http://www.cyclehoop.com/news-press/ And it's a British company so double win!
  7. James, can't make the 19th but wanted to point you in the direction of cyclehoop, an alternative cycle parking option that utilises existing street lights, signposts etc, so no digging up of pavements needed. www.cyclehoop.com

See my > point? I'm not sure I see your point, PR. The 'Child in Car' / 'Baby on Board' signs are intended to alert the emergency services of a potentially trapped infant, in the event of a collision.
  9. Ladymuck Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Did anyone go to the Skyride? Was it good? (Or > not?) I went. The idea is great - streets of central London are car free for a day, cyclists can mooch around without the worry of getting squashed - however, the biggest danger on the day was, shock, horror, OTHER CYCLISTS! Hordes of inexperienced, fair weather bikers with no spatial awareness; overexcited chavs, hooped up on Red Bull, bombing through congested streets on shitty mountain bikes (one smashing into a young girl at one point, sending her crashing to the ground), and competitive, lycra-clad fat dads, who just had to squeeze through the gap to get, ooh, 2 metres in front. I can't knock the atmosphere though and the efforts are to be applauded, but it's difficult to appreciate the city as you ride. There was so much congestion that I found myself unable to fully take in the surroundings, for fear of stacking into the bike in front of me. Definitely needs tweaking and is too 'stop and start' to really be a good day out. I don't think I'll bother next year - the Dunwich Dynamo with my fellow chain-smoking, Campagnolo cap-wearing, fixie-riding hipsters is much more appealing. edited for repetition.

  14. Scrotes make up the backbone of UK armed forces. Try going for a night out in Winchester without running into a thug squaddie.
  15. Will Heidi Hi and Growlybear ever let this go? The more you both post the more it seems you have some other motive, other than a passing interest in something that has nothing to do with you whatsoever. Witchhunt much?

  17. She'll be fine. No problem at all. Tell immigration that The East Dulwich Forum said so.

  23. Not really the right thread to prove a point on.
  24. You could always tell them that you're a bit of a kunt. It wouldn't be a complete lie.
