  1. Buy at least two pairs per person. I'm a shareholder, btw.

Steady on now, RosieH. You seem to be talking sense. I don't think that's the best thing to do when it comes to parking tickets. Boo hoo etc etc. SMH
  3. 1/10 (Actually 0/10 but extra point awarded as it's not election related)

  5. Please report this to the police. It must have been simply awful to witness, you poor thing! Any description of them so we know what to look out for?
  6. There's a White Stuff and Oliver Bonas on Lordship Lane. + 10 cool points. 2 butchers shops and 1 butcher van (at weekends). + 10 cool points. A hi-fi store that sells cars. + 100 cool points. Child-snatching clowns (not officially seen since 2009) - 1000 cool points A delicatessen that employs exceptionally surly staff + 500 cool points Buses to West End, City and Victoria + 500 cool points Kebab and Wine ........ Close to Peckham - 120 cool points Conclusion: East Dulwich is neutral, it is not cool nor is it uncool. It just 'is'.
  7. neubi and other recent victims of bike theft, have a read of this thread on recovering your bike from Brick Lane. It can be done if you're determined: http://www.lfgss.com/thread26296.html
  8. The noise from planes over ED is SHOCKING!

  11. Probably chasing after a suspected criminal.
  12. Anyone for beer-pong?
  13. Better saddle, padded shorts.
  14. There's a cycle path once you get to the crossing by the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. It takes you under the station and out the other side by the bus station, avoiding the 3 lane road. Watch out for stupid sleepy pedestrians straying into the bike path. Also watch out for bendy buses around The Oval.
  15. Thanks, Sandperson. Yeah, I've got a flip flop hub and am sticking to freewheel for now - fixed will take a lot of getting used to and probably not ideal for a first-time club ride. Hills not really a problem. I've made it up DKH & Denmark Hill/Herne Hill so far with out collapsing in a heap.
  16. I've got bull bars on my new ride. Tried out a few drop-bar track bikes but couldn't get used to the position. I'm too used to having my hands near the brakes! I'll give it a few months and then might switch for drops. Tried my bike with the fixed hub today - very strange indeed, and potentially dangerous when you can't freewheel!
  17. Switching to road tyres after an MTB is a little weird but as the riding position is different it kind of compensates. Much faster and more responsive, but great fun so far :-)
  18. What's your point, caller? What a load of stinking crap.
  19. Cheers Mazza. Am posting from my iPhone so will look at the Paragon site when I can get on my mac. Out of interest, what do you ride?
  20. Humour aside for minute, Enfield borough police have had huge success with intervention programmes. The 'liberal' approach might seem laughable, but a considerable number of ex-offenders are now involved in youth work on the borough, the idea being that they understand the situations the new generation of young-uns are in. Sorry for anybody that's been a victim here, the jokes are a little insensitive but it's important not to get too scared of your neighbourhood. Mick Mac, are you a Cl**ham exile? Anyway, I touted the vigilante idea on here last year and it never really took off.
  21. Belowthebelt, what would you and your 'not quite vigilantes' do should you encounter a crew of Pecknarm yoot dem? Will you be tooled up or simply rely on rapier wit and safety in numbers to scupper any plans the yoot have?
  22. I was wondering more or less the same as Mazza. Do many people ride single speeds on the Saturday rides? Just got a new one after riding a MTB for X number of years. Not sure I can make this Saturday but am definitely up for some organised rides very soon. What's a typical Saturday route (distance, location, time etc?)
  23. I've just got myself a new road bike and looking to do some organised rides. Wondered if any EDF'ers are members of the club?
  24. Nice story, AlParsons. Let us know if you meet up together.
