  1. Good questions Char1ie but most people will say probably no. If people could say yes to "do you avoid using new plastic bags" then it's a step in the right direction.
  2. came across this London Tube Journey Planner map this morning and though I would share it with you
  3. Some pure class on a Sunday lunchtime: Brotherhood of Man - Angelo
  4. I know the local council are behind this scheme and I think with a bit of help from each of us, East Dulwich could reduce the number of bags it gets through. May I suggest that when you pop out to the shops you stick a couple of those Sainsburys bags into your pocket. When go to Somerfield or Budgens and they give you a bag for a single loaf of bread tell them there's no need, and if there is a need whip out your own bag. Simple. Oh, and if a retailer's reading this, please tell the people serving behind your counter to say "do you need a bag?" rather than "do you want a bag?" to the customers. Everyone else, if you go to a shop in East Dulwich this week and they say "do you need a bag" let us know on here so we can all know who the good guys are (and give them some free publicity).

  7. Sorry I forgot to say the answer was Luxembourg, Mathis Bas Pien is the name of the Pinot Noir. The two luck winners were Nero and LB.
  8. Hi I think it is the word special-ised (without the -), we're looking in to it but no luck so far, we think it's a 3rd party plugin that's causing the problem and the support for it isn't as good as the actual forum software. not about the "definitely" search problem, we'll keep an eye on it Thanks for letting us know and sorry for the inconvenience Mark
  9. ...and don't forget you can put the details up on this website for free in the residential property section.

OK: The error-message was: Incorrect key file for table './edphorum/phorum_user_newflags.MYI'; try to repair it: INSERT IGNORE INTO phorum_user_newflags (user_id,forum_id,message_id) VALUES(1022,12,22701),(1022,12,22873),(1022,12,22905),(1022,12,23045) I've repaired it. Is it ok now?
  11. hang on, dropped curbs are for people with prams, wheelchairs etc who tend to live in residential areas, traffic wardens should operate in those areas where they can enforce that rule There was some discussion about this topic here What was the parking offence Jamie? Was it a legit ticket?
  12. The Lane reminds me of life in the Wiltshire countryside, as in "I'm off to the the farm shop down the lane". Lordship Lane every time for me although I've heard it referred to as "The Strip" a few times.
  13. ok, so it's no to the Blackberry. I've got webmail so I can just get my mail via a website anyway. Which Sony should I be looking at if I should ever decide to move away from Nokia (which I probably won't)
  14. apparently he doesn't have to pay tax on the diamonds worth ?12 million as they're artists materials. I suppose it's a case of "Nice one Damien" or "There goes ?3 million from the public funds" depending on your line of thought.

  17. ahh beer in the evening .com, they gave out my email address to spammers, not my favourite website I have to say
  18. I don't want to hijack this thread so I've started a thread in the Lounge (as it's not East Dulwich specific) called Which phone - Nokia N95 or a Blackberry? . Any advice from you mobile phone people appreciated.
  19. ok, it's coming up to my yearly phone change and it's looking like it's between Nokia N95 or a Blackberry. Has any one had experience of these? I've currently got a Nokia 6230i (my 6233 broke) and I generally prefer Nokia, tried a Samsung once, never again. I know the N95 has wi-fi and web browsing but data calls are expensive; on a Blackberry email & data calls are cheap(ish) N95: Does it have wi-fi so you can look at t'internet in a pub with wi-fi? Can you do Skype calls? What's it like browsing on the small screen? Blackberry: Do you find you're checking you emails when you should be having fun/chatting to others/a life Can you surf the information superhighway? If so what's it like? thanks in advance
  20. I think the Forest Hill Tavern is also a contender for the next drink, let's discuss tomorrow night
  21. It's more like one horse has bolted so only now they're checking the doors on the rest of the stables. Should have been done ages ago, even the lowliest stable hand knows that.

    a joke

yes, I was going to credit them as someone was bound to pick it up. Anyway... An executive was in quandary. He had to get rid of one of his staff. He narrowed it down to one of two people -- Debra or Jack. It would be a hard decision to make, as they were both equally qualified and both did excellent work. He finally decided that whichever one used the water cooler first the following morning would have to go. Debra came in the next morning, hugely hung-over after partying all night. She went to the cooler to get some water to take a couple of aspirins and the executive approached her and said, "Debra, I've never done this before, but I have to lay you or Jack off." Debra replied, "Could you please jack off? I have a terrible headache."

  24. The nice people at Green & Blue have offered four people from this forum tickets to attend their opening party on the Tuesday, 10th July at their new branch on Bedford Road in Clapham (by Clapham North Tube). It was actually five tickets but I'm having one, I hope you don't mind. So if you would like to attend please answer the following: What is the most unusual origin for a Pinot Noir currently on sale at Green & Blue? Answers on a PM please (click on the Reply via PM link - you have to be registered to do that) Please make your subject line in the PM "Green & Blue" or similar so I know what it is. Four correct entries will be drawn out of a hat this Saturday 7th July at 13:00. Entries must be in by 12:55 on that Saturday. You must be free on the evening of Tuesday 10th July. One or two tickets per winning entry. I'm the judge and my decision is final. Good luck.
