I remember seeing this but cannot find it..... Was it a separate site? If so does anyone have the link? If not.... Where did it go, it was a great idea!

I've not heard of this at all...... Where and when and what age group?

It is fine to do, it just means the new milk today can only be kept as long as yesterday's. Really easy if yesterday's frozen, although if that's the case you need to cool today's before pouring on top of the frozen milk.

which is better investment: bouncer or gym mat?
ClareC replied to nabz's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Baby Bjorn bouncers are fantastic! Expensive but you can pick one up second hand at a reasonable price. Gyms I would rate second, again, good to buy second hand. You can add your own toys to keep interest levels up. I think ive still got a gym if your interested, definitely rate the bouncer above the gym though! -
being induced with second child - UPDATE
ClareC replied to pommie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Can't help on the induction side but have had one emergency c section and one elective. Both were absolutely fine and the recovery easy. Elective was brilliant, very surreal as a very standard op so very relaxed, can only compare to going to dentist! Sounds mad I know. Good luck with it all. -
Count me in :)

I agree that party's at home are the nicest. Are you sure it's competitiveness rather than practicality? Winter birthdays mean being indoors and most people in London are limited on space. When each 2 year old is accompanied by at least one parent often two if its the weekend, it doesn't take long before things become rather crowded. Also, with two year old's it's the age when there are often new siblings coming along too with buggy / car seat etc My daughter has just turned two and I liked the idea of a party at home. Decided against it based upon it being too difficult to limit numbers. We had a family celebration instead, she had a fantastic day playing with her two cousins I made a birthday cake and did party bags for the four of them (my two plus my sisters two). Age 2 they really don't understand birthday parties, it's easy to do exactly what you choose. I fear next year she will have an opinion on her birthday celebrations :)

Totally second the second hand advice!! I've only 15 mths between my two but my eldest (just turned 2) rarely uses the buggy. She scoots or buggy boards! I will be selling a Vibe 2 by the time she is 2 1/2!!

Family Holiday in Sweden - any recommendations?
ClareC replied to MrsP's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Another vote for Gothenburg, my partner lived there for a couple of years and when we met I visited him there alternate weekends. The city is great and the islands are beautiful, lots of lovely cottages. Hiring a Stuge is very traditional and good fun, although we only ever went for one with full facilities! I only visited Stockholm once, preferred Gothenburg but Stockholm was nice too. If you decide to go to Gothenburg I can ask my partner for recommendations, also we still have swedish friends there. Great choice of destination, not sure when your planning to go but Midsommer is a huge celebration :) -
Couldnt fault them! I was concerned to be flying Easyjet with 2 under 2, had no real choice as there were no scheduled flights to our destination. They were really good and extremely helpful. They came to us to ensure we boarded before anyone else that wasn't speedy boarding (v few were) and advised the flight wasn't full so not to let anyone sit with us (like anyone would want to), thus ensuring a seat for our 1 year old. We flew from Gatwick.

That's helpful, I've not stopped giving him tomato, just limited it and tend to avoid fresh tomato (worse effect, maybe it is just a skin reaction). Fingers crossed he grows out if it, tomato is in so many things!

Oh, this is really interesting. My son is 8 mths and I've noticed the same. He gets red blotches round his mouth.
-
No, you don't need to book it. Just turn up and they take it from you at the gate.
-
Agree that is a good idea, does anyone know the relevant names / contact details?
-
I have two small children so often call at 8am for an appointment that day. I've never failed to get one. Often I've been offered an appointment for as soon as 9.15. I suspect priority is given to certain patients ie babies and elderly but even when the appointment has been for me or my partner I can't think of an occasion we have failed to get one, although we rarely need them. Non urgent appointments are usually fairly in advance but given the non urgent nature it's never been a problem. Agree 8am the switchboard is busy but by simply redialling you soon get a line in, takes 5/10 mins max.

Interesting these people still have not posted their reasons. Certainly appears vexatious. Why anyone would want to remove the income of a small family and significantly effect numerous other families is beyond me. let alone potentially put all those other businesses out if business. Totally understand the Court are tied to uphold the law, is the covenant 'owned' just by the neighbours? Surely it must owned by others too. I have no link to the nursery whatsoever, however, I did view it with the intention of my daughter joining when it first opened. It reslly was lovely, the only nursery of the ones I had seen at that stage I was comfortable leaving her in. There were no screaming children and it was peaceful! I ended up not gong back to work as I fell pregnant with number two so we never ended up needing the nursery place. I find it hard to believe there is genuinely any issue with noise. If there is anything we can do to help do let us know, seems so sad, I really feel for the many people effected.

Denmark Hill Station Refurbishment Images

Does anyone know if the new modelled DH will have step free access to the platforms? I hope so ... -
I agree with Buggie, it's all public information anyway. If the people doing this feel so strongly as to do what they are doing, being identified shouldn't be an issue to them. I would be interested to hear their reasons. Surely some kind of compromise could have been agreed. Their actions have effected numerous families and Potentially have a knock on effect for the 100 or so other businesses in the area. They are setting a precedent which can be applied to the other businesses. Once they have effectively driven out 100+ businesses from the area, where does that leave Forest Hill? I don't have children at the nursery but wouldn't have any issue having a nursery for 24 next door. Heber School is @100m from me, has significantly more children yet is barely audible other than playtime. Even then it's barely noticeable and not unpleasant. I think it's sad this has happened, unnecessary and wonder if it's been thought through fully.

Change your password ASAP. Use something with a combination of upper case, lower case and numbers to minimise risk of compromise.

What about the 100 or so other businesses breaching the restrictive covenant?

This is a good site. http://www.pepipoo.com Sounds as though you have a good case for the fine to be dropped. Dealing with these people is a painful process unfortunately. Good luck x
