  2. The plot thickens...
  3. Completely agree quids. I switched the TV on to see a bit of the ceremony and I didn't think he was disprespectful at all (not that that's why I watched it)! Trust the bloody media to turn it into an "issue" about Corbyn bowing/not bowing FFS. That's showing disrespect in itself. Look at his pixies. There's enough fodder there for people to debate.
  4. Sorry for going off-topic but what's your views on, hmmm lets say, gambling/poker blah blah? How does that sit with your oh so virtuous you think you can pass comment on other people's spending choices in that holier-than-thou self-righteous condescending manner.
  5. The plot thickens.
  6. Let me guess...cider? :))
  7. What Jeremy and Lady Muck said. Nothing to do with you how people spend their money, blah blah. How insulting. 5k on a wedding dress is not obscene, as it's their money and more importantly, their choice. The OP does not have to justify anything and it was a kind gesture to donate it to a meaningful cause anyway.
  8. What Laddy Muck said :))
  9. That's very reassuring of you *Bob*.
  10. Fingers crossed this works!!
  11. Fingers crossed this works.
  12. 6. Bitterly mention the oh so tired 'c' word as much as possible in the hope of getting noticed without much else of note to say. It will likely endear you to other forumites who will eagerly await your next dazzling contribution.
  13. Pics please Lou?
  14. Ugh clothes on radiators is rank but I hate using tumble dryers too. The clothes feel like they've been to the launderette which is another thread entirely. I've got a brilliant, dare I say, stylish, wooden contraption+ from good old Dulwich DIY for the bargain price of ?27.99 that I hang clothes on once they've been out on the line. You should all try it. Central heating before December. Pah. You're all a bunch of wimps. +including new, never previously published, underwear and knitted tank top pics. Exclusive to the EDF. [Disclaimer: I don't have a large family or indeed a small family.]
  15. Louisa do you need new specs love? Maxxi says it's for living there for a few months. Bit different to looking for places to visit on your own doorstep. Probably already aware of the joys of the UK I dare say.
  16. Nah! Can't be.
  17. Sugar taxes. FGS. No no & no.
  18. One of my friends recently posted that she'd seen Midge Ure at the Princess theatre Hunstanton..or did I dream it? Anyway, you can have nice trips to the Waldviertel in Niederosterreich. Beautiful small places like Zwettl, Schrems and Gmund! Sorry not much help maxxi but v. jealous. Bon voyage!
  19. I think it's really bad forum etiquette to start a thread about a private message, naming the person who sent it and publishing the content or alluding to what it was about. If you're prepared to post on a public forum, and be quite antagonistic with it, then you can reasonably expect to receive a response on the forum or by PM. I don't read the family room posts but from what I've seen of Londonmix on other parts of the forum comes across as a reasonable, fair and interesting poster whose contributions are worth reading. Increasingly rare qualities these days, in my opinion. LM has already politely explained their use of the word jerk and why they PMd rather than derailed the thread so no need to go on about other ridiculous things it could have meant. I'd be horrified if someone started a thread about a PM I'd sent. It's unnecessary and unpleasant behaviour. If you're being "cyber-bullied" or receiving offensive, abusive PMs then that's another matter entirely. Nothing to see here tho.

    Unwanted Gifts

It is sad sue... On another note I was watching Nigel slater on the history of sweets and discovered jelly babies were originally called 'unclaimed babies' when invented during Victorian times :(
  21. ah I feel for you, that is definitely the hard part think how much good have done for this family though. Does this mean there is now a vacancy to help another in need? x

(non-ironic smiley) Bloody great news! What about the password to the secret room? Got your invitation yet?

    First Dates

I love the staff too buggie, like hearing what they have to say about the couples. Fred Siriex is just great! Agree I feel a warm glow when the dates go well, it is heart-warming to see but a tiny bit of me enjoys the sheer horror when they don't and it makes uncomfortable viewing. not usually a fan of "celebrity" versions as I don't know any of them usually, watched it on Monday and was glad anthea turner gave the brush off to that ghastly city bore superglued to his mobile.

"vaguely controversial posts" lmao predictable, laughable and I expect I will, of course, be berated for expressing my opinion. Where's Sean when you need him?
