  1. Stop calling me Shirley.
  2. Ah dear maxxi is the heat getting to you? Ham fisted office drone. Love it.
  3. It's too far away to walk, is it not? I mean, surely there must be similar pubs nearby that you can go to instead. Why should residents of East Dulwich have to go all the way - that great distance - to Nunhead, in search of entertainment and a drink?
  4. Definitely not representative however I'd say that's true for most forums of this kind. Ed issues section probably captures the hot topics but generally posters tend to have similar views although it may not seem that way at times. The lounge just has older (40s and upwards I'd say) posters who enjoy the humour and banter. The multiple logins that agree with themselves are faintly amusing I guess. Don't think young ones bother posting much. Agree with Jeremy on those with time on their hands posting more or else those who are bored at work and have the added bonus of being able to participate. I used to post more when I had a cushy work from home number now I'm doing long hours that's all come to a sad end. Apart from the recent *Bob* and *Louisa* head to head over cinema prices (classic!) it's been dull here anyway. I don't think good ol' SJ lurks anymore either I can't feel his presence. Worried we are losing el pibe too. Hooch, Brendan, Ted, Rosie abd Moos much missed. Some interesting new posters worth reading though so not all bad. Not in SE22 anymore though I suspect I'm in the majority there in the lounge at least.
  5. You can blame me if you like. I hate Summer and have been perfecting a rain dance. Really glad the nights are drawing in now. Autumn beckons.

  7. red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Coincidental that posters who sign-off their posts > regularly end up in spats?... > > Red Devil How DARE you say that Red Devil? I think you should retract that statement immediately its clearly WRONG! Numbers PS this thread is a contender for irrational rage as it is misleading, made me think Louisa had an outright ban which is clearly not the case, thankfully.
  8. you make it sound so easy seabag but who does all the post coffee clearing up at Seabag Towers eh?
  9. oh wow how about a tenth anniversary forum reunion/barry barry charity race extravaganza next summer?
  10. Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's times like > this I wish I was free to run riot in general > issues. Let me guess - the parking thread or the freeloading wifi cafe (caff??) seat hogging one?
  11. Fair point. Its slim pickings tonight and perhaps I was being a little harsh. But you've got to admit this thread is as predictable as the gun one, no?
  12. Dualit kettle* going strong for over 8 years now. However, I will confess that I also have a lovely stove top kettle specially for boiling water for tea. (leaves, not bags, I'll have you know). So that probably skews my results. I think paying a fair amount of dosh for stuff in a colour or style that you no longer like will guarantee it lasts forever! *Toaster as good as new also.
  13. 0/10 for effort here, thats to both of you btw.

    Old TV shows

    The Wonder Years. Fame.
  15. Is there a category for those that make a thread, any thread, ALL about them? Every single time they post. No matter what the subject, they are all over the forum like a rash spouting on about their favourite subject - their self.
  16. "You have no Idea how brilliant ED used to be. Unless you were there" What a condescending, snotty and unpleasant remark to make. All the while condemning those who are out enjoying the 'new trendy' places in ED whilst in same breath telling people "you had to be there" etc. what a load of crap. Anyway completely agree with what Kid Kruger said above much more eloquently than I. There are plenty of people making great memories out and about in ED now. Their experiences aren't less valid than yours.
  17. Don't worry Louisa, you can still get meat and two veg in the Palmerston. With truffle oil.

He's got homework to do.
  19. Haven't played the betting version Alan and am sure I would be rubbish at it! However, I do think that the older versions of TP are a lot better than the more recent ones where the questions seem dumbed down (not that I am any good at answering them) but subject matter is utter drivel. Mind you, I only ever play this at Christmas after too many glasses of champagne so what do I know. I steer clear of the pinks and oranges. They are my worst categories.

Selective memory Rah when it > comes to the ED of old? > > Louisa. good god Louisa - ED is not the only place to lose a good greengrocer in the last 20 years or so, its happened everywhere thanks to supermarkets. The only difference being that ED has a very good, long-running forum for people to er...bang on about the changes. Anyway, its not as if you cannot get a decent selection of fruit & veg on Lordship Lane, is it? I don't think that people are commenting on new places because they feel that's where they ought to be seen to gain 'street cred'. It's often just because they are....new, so something to talk about.
  21. What was meant as a 'light hearted thread' turns into tit for tat slanging match. Quelle surprise when you start banging on about how it's only you and Louisa that frequent K&W. You have to pay to get into K&W (late nights) now & even then only if your face fits. Pretty elitist eh! ;) Also DF the homework jibe isn't very nice, seems quite ageist and I suspect wouldn't be appreciated if it were the other way around & you were berated for being 'old'. Or am I missing the joke/point?
  22. Thanks cat, my search is now over. I knew I'd find the answer here!
  23. Hi, Apologies in advance for starting a boring thread but I'd appreciate it if anyone could recommend a landscape design software package? Nothing fancy is needed just something to replace using graph paper and a ruler. I don't really want an American one as they all seem to have ranch style layouts and pine trees that are not needed. Can't afford a bespoke software package & I've looked at variously Visio, smart draw, google sketchup, draft sight. Not getting on with any of them so is there good training tutorials maybe it's me being rubbish at it. Long shot but grateful if anyone could help advise on the simplest and easiest to use for basic use. Thanks so much.
  24. Was it the 'Organic, Sustainable, Convenient, Family Shopping in East Dulwich' thread that sent you over the edge Louisa?
