  2. Norfolk. Great view of the eclipse from the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere.

  4. Skimmed? I'd never have thought it Louisa!

  6. What was the item?

I couldn't tell the difference between them and say, napolina bog standard plum tomatoes. Quite disapppointing. Maybe I need to seek out a proper brand. I bought some budget plum tomatoes, oooh a saving of 20p, in a green can. Not only did they not have that handy pull ring thing to get the lid off, they were so bad they had to be thrown in the bin. Tinny and bitter. I hate wasting food and usually make the best of something but these could not be salvaged.

Me too. Come on lovely Mr Ben, spill.. PS Private Members' Club, Pall Mall. Early-Mid 90s (memory hazy). The crime? Playing the piano without permission. Removing lightbulbs from chandeliers without permission. Food fight in the Dining Room without permission. Drug-taking on the fire escape stairway without permission. You get the idea.

unless you need to carry it around with you on a daily basis, get the larger one.
  11. wood burners in London don't smell like Bonfire Night though, do they? not with that smokeless fuel crap they are obliged to use.
  12. Dearest Artful, There are no positive side effects to losing the wonderful Yee Wah on Barry road. From the ever so slightly-surly on the surface yet absolute diamond-on-the-inside, efficient guy who took the orders to the bitingly hot salt & chilli tofu, this place was a gem and no mistake. Hadn't tried the pizza parlour and the Indian place was oh-kay once but quality was inconsistent. Anyway, don't moan about having to cook your own Singapore noodles tonight. You had Ganapati delivery service last night, so just shurrup boasting about your food heaven. Of course I'm not jealous!

The amount of time I spent in the late 80s unsuccessfully trying to perfect that Siouxsie Sioux look with the aid of temperamental crimpers that frazzled the ends of my hair. Yet the cat manages it effortlessly.
  14. Godwin's Law invoked in the first post. Admin, please tell me this is a new record for the forum?
  15. RD - aha I see what you mean, Jah is right chrsyanthe...is a bugger to spell. I'd hate to be asked how to spell that. btw, don't you mean 'Melon's' if we are talking grocers ;-)
  16. all very fishy. the forum, I mean.
  17. Another recommendation for Bosch. I think the more basic the model, the longer they last (in my experience). My dishwasher and w/m lasted forever with no problems, sadly I had to give them away when I moved house. Have heard good things about Miele too, if your budget allows.
  18. Broccoli. I don't have to look it up but I do have to think twice before writing or typing it. And no, Red Devil, I am not a greengrocer ;-)
  19. Have had a mixed experience there but similarly to Jah, haven't eaten in there for about 3-4 years now. Love the fact you can have wine with your f&c and have had a great meal there. However, the last time I ate in was awful, the chips tasted like cheapo frozen ones and hadn't been cooked properly. Quite disappointing experience as who doesn't look forward to wolfing down f&c. That put me off returning. Of course, things could have changed by now and they are consistently good.
  20. The reason I started this thread was because I was thinking of Pathetic Trolls (or rather impersonators/wannabes) at the time. Why can't we have decent ones on here anymore, the current effort is pathetic. In terms of Viz characters, I quite like Mr Logic (an acute localised bodily smart in the rectal area) as he reminds me of someone I know (& like).
  21. can't believe I missed it!!
  22. Did you know they have names? Rupert, Justin, Adrian, Timothy and Henry.
  23. I can't play either Otta. *inserts red-faced emoticon*
