Yuck.

What do you want to know Alan? Trainspotting is like stamp collecting...or plane spotting, I guess. Not to be confused with railway enthusiasts/steam railway buffs. It has such an uncool image, its probably cool or something. I agree with Otta, in rare cases I prefer the film to the book and this is one of them. I don't think I could read Irvine Welsh anymore though I read all his stuff when I was younger and enjoyed it. Radge.
  3. English tomatoes are great. I'd go with Artful's suggestion. Barry's has certainly upped its game.

I expect the people living in these 'cheaper' areas are not raking in as much in wages as Londoners though. So they probably find it as expensive to eat locally.
  5. I loved Blind Date back in the day....expect if I watched it now it would seem tired, dated, predictable and sexist. It was especially good if the couple detested each other and came back and told all. It was funny to see the horror and disappointment on their faces when they realised they had turned down a 'hottie' and the sinking feeling when they knew that they were left with someone er, not so 'hot'.
  6. It's great to know that rather than use google (so yesterday!), I can simply start a thread on the EDF and sooner or later, someone will collate the moot points from the web rather than me taking the time & trouble to do it myself. Was going to ask if anyone knows if Spring honey is sweeter than 'other' honey, is it a matter of taste? I bought some at a village fete the other week, the Spring honey was light in colour and the other very dark and less sweet. That stuff being sold in Khan's sounds vile...HFCS mixed in with honey. Ugh. Oh my jar cost a fiver.
  7. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You must be very happy numbers :-) With today's weather, Alan? I am. Rainiest July on record, maybe I will suffer in August with all that hot sun! I'm going to Ireland then so I hope it bloody well rains there ;) PS Jeremy, you do realise I was not being entirely serious about borage, don't you?

I used to babysit for an american family when I was (a lot) younger and Crunchies were the most requested chocolate bar. I used to think their 'candy' was more exciting but I guess it was just because it was different (at the time). You can pretty much buy it all over here now anyway so it has lost its charm..and not sure I'd like the taste. My american cousins would go mad for Frys Chocolate Cream. Louisa are you sure you didn't pick up those tiny packs of Flakes that are used for 99s (ice creams)?
  9. Glad I'm not the only one looking forward to Autumn! Awful feet & sandals unsurprisingly gets a unanimous no-no. I don't believe people look happier in the sunshine, more like hot & bothered & pretty tetchy with it. On that note, I'm going to add insect bites & stinky sun block whilst I'm here.

  14. *Moany old git klaxon* Bugs come into your house. Horrible. Sticky, stuffy weather. People wear ghastly sandals. Travelling is a nightmare. Caravans & trailers on the roads. Articles on how to get a beach/bikini body in 5 days are rife. Bbqs. Say no more. Pimms. If you're going to make it at least have borage, an essential ingredient, the stuff grows everywhere. It's not difficult to obtain. Music blaring from cars. Shit music. Festivals. People ;) Ah that feels better, any others?

    Hipsters

Erm....I think 'normcore' was actually last year or the one before that!! Sorry. Tartan always becomes fashionable in September. Just watch.
  16. growing veg and making jam - a resounding yes homeopathy and god - a resounding no (which cancels out the former) Blahblah, Labour are dead in Scotland, dead I tell you! As a general point, the SNP have privatised so much they are hardly the lefty socialist alternative they are portrayed to be on social meedia.
  17. This thread is really handy at times! Well said Otta. Also....that new bar? Really dire, I dislike it already.

    Scary pubs

I've never met an unwashed hipster, I always thought they were fairly well turned out. How do you know they haven't washed Louisa, do they stink or something? Nothing wrong with jam jar cocktails to transport you back to Louisiana and all that jazz. As long as they are recycled jam jars and not those ones with handles on that you can buy in any old pound shop! Silly me, it's a quiet Saturday eve and I've taken the bait, haven't I?
  22. where have all my posts on this thread gone?!!!! some git has removed them. bloody cheek. Took me ages to compose and I wasn't even half way through this bottle of Aperol Spritz!!! Fuming.

Posted by DulwichFox Yesterday, 08:24PM Well I posted here a friendly update. It was almost immediately removed. Admin. I'm sure your watching . Am I banned. Why are my inoffensive posts being removed. Please advise what the situation is ? There is obviously one Moderat?r doing this just because they can, Posted by Administrator Yesterday, 08:32PM Nothing has been removed/deleted from this thread FGS so if you'd both been reading the forum as avidly as you claim to be, you'd have spotted this swift response from admin in answer to the stupendous question of whether you'd been banned or not. Now today we have this!! Enough to put us all off our kebabs & Efes. Look at ME, its all about ME, ME, ME... as for you Louisa you knew it would come to this, as AQ rightly predicted.
  25. Nothing wrong with getting your windows cleaned I'm similar to Jah costs a tenner every 5 weeks and I don't have a ladder so money well spent. Wheelie bins. Yeah it's an additional cost to have them professionally cleaned. But they can really stink. Chuck some Jeyes fluid in, dispose of waste in bags & separate rubbish properly. Who said this forum was for young 'uns? I don't think gentrification is the issue here.
