  1. The spelling is Bellenden. Estate agents call it Bellenden Village or Bellenden Conservation Area. It is Peckham. I have seen some people say East Dulwich SE15 depending on where it is in Peckham. But you are part of Peckham.

    Untaxed vehicles

I have recently noticed DVLA vehicles driving around the area with a car camera and have seen vehicles clamped with stickers saying due to no tax. The council is also pretty good at removing vehicles or they used to be. Somebody parked some sort of kit car with no tires in my road and covered it up and within a day it was gone.
  3. Did you ask the highways department at the council for clarification? What about having a single yellow line on the road at the entrance to driveway?
  4. Another idea - send a letter to Mayor Boris. He's in over-all charge of policing.
  5. Why don't you issue the Met with a County Court summons? You can do it on-line. And get the costs. Bet they would pay up promptly or risk it getting in the papers.
  6. This should be in local businesses section, family classifieds or offered section.
  7. Did you find the dog's owner?
  8. Mr. Barber Have sent you an email to your work email address.
  9. Do you think it is necessary to give a wedding present if you spend all that money on travel and hotel? I am curious as to the etiquette of this? Once attended a wedding far from here, although still in this country and not on the home ground of either bride or groom and they cheekily asked for money for their honeymoon trip as a wedding present.
  10. Go to the Doglost website and register his details. Someone might have reported him there already. You need to report him to the local council as well. They have dog wardens. The police don't have responsibility for lost dogs anymore.
  11. I think the Hospice shop has a good everchanging selection of books. They often have some behind the counter they haven't put out yet.
  12. The writer made a mistake. She should have said it resembles Crouch End.

This is right. It can hinder and injure blind and visually impaired people as well as others. A lot of property owners don't give a damn. Report any problem hedges to Southwark.
  14. Wondering why you didn't nip across the road to the newsagents where they sell travel cards. I wouldn't dream of faffing around trying to buy a ticket at the station.
  15. Why don't you contact John Beazley who has written books on the history of Dulwich, Peckham and Nunhead. His books have contributions and photos from people who lived through the war.
  16. I have seen them. Think the placement is very odd right next to the pavement. If you use them it will like being on a stage. At least the one in Peckham Rye are in their own little enclave. The signs on the ones in Peckham Rye say they aren't for children so why do you let your kids use them ImpetuousVrouw?
  17. There is one called propertybroker. Have seen their boards around before. Think they charge about ?140.
  18. You can get it at Sainsburys in Dog Kennel Hill.
  19. East Dulwich stretches quite a long way. I would rather be near good transport and at least one or two shops than somewhere where it took ages to get back to, especially if walking and carrying shopping. I believe the Bellenden area is still considered ED. For example, Ondine Road and Oglander Road have the SE15 postcode however Grove Vale, which runs at the bottom of both those roads is SE22. St. John's Church on Goose Green is SE22 but the school on Adys is SE15. The new house and flats off Coplestone Road (behind Grove Vale) are SE22 but Coplestone is SE15. Weird.
  20. Sounds like the writer has been reading this forum.
  21. Agree with the Bellenden area. Or Peckham or Bellenden Village as the estate agents like to call it. Roads like Amott, Fenwick, Nutbrook, Reedham, Choumert. And look on the other side of Warwick Gardens, going towards Camberwell. It is near Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill. SE15/SE5 area. You can also pick up all the buses going from Camberwell there.
  22. Wasn't there information on here about there being some sort of 'black hole' for schools area around there - or was that just the Gardens area? I love the area mentioned and would love to be closer to the park.
  23. They should be in the front gardens, not in the road surely. Do they pay road tax? No.
  24. I like the idea of doing it, however you probably would get caught unless you did it when you knew they weren't at home. Is everyone in the house out all day? There seems to be a lot of putting out of bins at the moment to save parking spaces at the moment. Think it usually related to workmen saving parking spaces though. And there seems to be a lot of people dumping deliveries like sand, paving slabs and the like in the road. What is that about?
  25. This amazing man passed away yesterday. I had the pleasure of working with him for a while. The experience was thrilling. My condolences to his family. http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/.../charlie-gillett-obituary
