    LeoB, He told you his guys would turn up 430 pm to wash windows at this time of year? It's getting pretty dark by then....You really believed him? I have the number of a good window cleaner if you want it.

    Goose Green is open but not very big. The main part of Peckham Rye is open, the bit by East Dulwich Road.

    I don't want to open the door to cold callers. I fail to see why that is something to laugh about.

    He said he would put his card through the door and he didn't. He didn't say he didn't have any cards on him and so would come back and drop it through the door. I have dealt with quite a few window cleaners in the past and none of them get work by knocking on doors and touting for business. They come on recommendation.

    Thanks djw. I posted this as a warning because I remember reading about it before. I'm happy to have occupied the 'jokers' on here who think they are very funny. You're not, and you would never get a job as a stand-up.

    I didn't open the door or ask him to do the windows so no mention of money was made. He did say to contact him if I wanted him to do them and I said OK put your card through the door but he didn't which makes me think he was trying it on. We've had at least 4 burglaries in this road in the last 10 days.

    Anyone else experienced this recently? I seem to remember that there was a thread about someone doing it and then taking money in advance and disappearing. This guy said that he 'was doing a neighbour's house' and wondered if I wanted mine done. Conversation conducted through the door. Doesn't sound kosher to me. Don't have a description unfortunately.

    Don't see how you can compare Sainsburys to Celestial......and no I haven't seen the CCTV cameras in there. Haven't ever noticed them as I never go in there with the intention of stealing. I actually don't go there very often at all. Once a month at the most. They also have security guards there don't they?

    Back on track.....can Weil's disease be caught from rat's urine in an area like this? Or does it have to be ingested like in a lake or stream?

    Little kids go out earlier with their parents. 5 pm ish? What time does it get dark now? Older kids and troublemakers go out later.

    Melbourne Grove has improved. I preferred it before Concordia took over. It nose-dived after Dr. Brew Graves left but has improved as I think they really listened to patient feedback.

    Wonder if any burglars are getting in by way of the WLG. They do lock it at night though.

    I assume the parents of the NY kids are the ones coughing up eventually unless they are going to attach some future earnings order to the kids. The parents should have been surpervising the kids and they obviously weren't.
