  1. Admin, what is East Dulwich to you?
  2. Is this a new order because people have been advertising rooms, houses, etc. in Nunhead, Peckham and Camberwell for ages. Does that mean the Bellenden/Dog Kennel Hill (SE15 and SE5) area is also off limits? And what about Honor Oak Park etc. Is there some sort of map you could refer to Admin?

Pointless busy work. Did they cease to operate this scheme?

If I am going west, ie District Line, then I always get bus to Denmark hill and train to Victoria. You really need to become quite resourceful when you live here. But living near ED/Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill makes it easier.
  5. Heave often happens after a tree is given the chop.

  7. I thought that anyone pulling out from a side road was always at fault.
  8. If the caller gave you her details then you should ask her where and when the boot sale is. Otherwise I like to give stuff to the Hospice Shop on LL. Hospices do amazing work. I have had personal experience of how they work.

It does really depend on where you are. From Denmark Hill, after first taking a bus, or walking, go to Victoria and from there you can get anywhere. Or from ED, when at London Bridge, do the hop to the Charing Cross Line. If you want Northern Line, or Jubilee Line then stay at LB.
  10. Sorry to hear about your break-in. Do you mind saying how they got in - ie removed window or what? 4 burglaries in my road in the last two weeks. Side entrances. Evidence of someone being in my side passage as fence partially broken. What did the police mean about open gardesn? Low fences?

  12. Zone 2 ends at Goose Green roundabout.
  13. Any description?
  14. Ha, what I was trying to say is that because Gingerbread does exist it could be real plea for help, and the lady collecting didn't realise how her door knocking came across. If you have her details then I would suggest she put her details on the forum. Or she could be one of those people who collects stuff for herself and then sells it on to line her own pocket. Perhaps contact Gingerbread and ask if there is a local branch and if so get their contact details.
  15. Gingerbread is a group for single parents. It could be kosher or it could be a scam. I certainly wouldn't tell anyone knocking on my door what time I would be home though. Did you ask when/where the boot sale was going to be held?
  16. Is 'favourtite' a code word for horrible. Or did you mean favourite in an ironic sense?
  17. Tenants don't pay ground rent. Leaseholders do.
  18. I hope Dulwich Mum reads this. I would love to go. Take some pictures.
  19. Have you tried electric toothbrushes for your families? Fantastic for everyone. Much more thorough and fun to use. The best ones have timers that go off after 30 seconds so you know when to change from top to bottom or front to back.
  20. Perhaps they could be marketed to exhibitionists. Other than that I suggest putting up half shutters across the bottom of the windows.
  21. Pedant alert!
  22. Think it is Gristwood and Toms and they do a lot of work for Southwark Council. Their trucks are everywhere. Have you thought of calling them?
  23. Why would Southwark Council have given planning permission for that pile of bad design to be built?
  24. Does he not like water in his eyes? You could put some goggles on him and make a game of it. And perhaps he doesn't he like having his hair combed afterwards if it is tangly. You can get one of those tangle teasers at hairdressers that get rid of tangles in a flash without hurting.

Is that rate set by someone? What if they only had one child? I still would have thought that the minimum wage would have to be paid for each child, which is nearly ?6 per hour now for over age 21.
