  1. You could have it done without taking out the whole wall. A lot cheaper. A friend had it done and has her laundry area there, a toilet and her desks for her kids and toy storage.
  2. They have expensive perfume.
  3. Very interesting. I am really fed up with people, mostly adults, doing this here. So many adults think it is OK because they have kids with them, either on another bike or on the back or on cross bar. Some boys about 20 were racing down Eynella Road pavement accompanied by their dogs and told me it was OK because they had dogs with them and what else could they do. Uh, how about walk the bikes?
  4. Lakeland does the Tala Measure but they charge for delivery under ?50 expenditure. I find it hard to look there without buying more than one thing though. They also have lots of scales.
  5. Hmmm, I just don't like fruit in brownies. Fruitcake, yes. Carrot cake, yes. Stuff like that. Green and Black's is good to cook with though...... Lady M, you need to get yourself a Tala Dry Measuring Cup. They are available on Amazon. I have three of them. Invaluable. Does your scale not do ounces?
  6. The Cinnamon Tree ones from Borough Market are good, as mentioned above. I did mention them on the best brownie thread in ED a while back. Some I am meaning to try are in West Dulwich at the Bakery on the corner opposite Tesco. They look fantastic and are made with Valhrona chocolate. They are gluten free as well in case anyone needs to know.

  8. He was working there last year certainly. He had quite a lot of time off earlier this year though. He is on leave now until mid November from Melbourne Grove. Why don't you just ask the surgery at Dulwich Hospital. Melbourne Grove now has 3 other doctors, two men and 1 woman.
  9. Quite sure Dr. Johnson works for the surgery at Dulwich hospital now as well as 2 days a week at Melbourne Grove.
  10. 4 level tablespoons cocoa equals approx 1 oz or 25g. Salt would weight differently as it is heavier etc.
  11. This has already been mentioned in the other thread. Perhaps you could post on there and have this thread locked.
  12. Blueberries aren't in season now. I presume that is why.

    over to NY?
  14. If a dog is outside in a garden all day and is barking then it is very cruel, both to the dog and the neighbours who have to listen to it.
  15. Is this dog outside in a garden all day? If so, that is very cruel and the dog must be lonely, as well as cold.
  16. Is this a repeat from the one on a few months back?
  17. I once had a flatmate who appeared to have a constant cold for the first few weeks after she moved into my flat. She also had asthma and used an inhaler. Much later she told me that she was allergic to my cats but didn't want to tell me as she really wanted to move in and had decided to tough it out. Her cold symptoms eventually disappeared and everything was fine. However she wasn't a baby so I don't know if that would make a difference. She stayed for 2 years, moved away for work for a few months and then moved back in again for another year before eventually moving in with a boyfriend. Did you ask the consultant about the fact that you have a childminder with cats and what that means? There is also that stuff called Petal Cleanse which helps get rid of cat allergens/dander. What about trying something homeopathic for your baby?
  18. Concita, Yikes, a drive by stealing and stabbing - that is terrible. I think the screaming you did contributed to the police coming fast. Re the burglary, by the time your neighbour saw the broken window they had probably been in and out of your house. Was it you who said that another neighbour hadn't seen a broken fence panel when the alarm went off? A lot will obviously depend on how far away they are, and what else they are attending to. I don't think burglaries come high up on their list of crimes, especially if the alarm isn't hooked up to the station.
  19. Concita, You don't know that the burglars would have been arrested if your neighbours had called the police because you don't know how long they would have taken to get there. It sounds like you are doing your best to have an 'if only' scenario which can't be good for your emotional state of mind. I've been burgled twice, but not in this area so I know how you feel.
  20. Didn't Tandy turn into Radio Shack? They still have those in the States.
  21. Panyan Pickle.
  22. I've had shoes stolen and chewed up and left in the garden. Also fox poop left in the conservatory. They got in through the cat flap.

If the top gets too brown then cover with foil and/or turn oven down a bit. Loaf pan size, type , material can change how it cooks as can oven temp. You can add ingredients to it but I prefer it without add-ins. It also freezes well. If you have surfeit of bananas going brown you can also freeze them and then use them another day. Just defrost for a couple of hours at room temperature before using.
  24. Go to the pubs showing football when matches are on and you would be likely to meet fellow football lovers. EDT shows matches.....
  25. Sounds like the cat was hit by a car and then managed to reach the pavement before he/she died.
