  1. Miffy and Amelie Sadly the truth is that you do what single over 30's 40's and any age does, smile a lot at members of the opposite and same sex, look as glamerous as you are, slip into a glamerous skirt / dress / outfit, best Jimmy-choo's forward and talk to strangers with confidence. (The last option works for me, although everyone in the maudsley is a stranger to me...) If you want to know where single men go, that is the same question us men havce been asking for years, where do single women go... I think if we can both solve that question then job done and everyone happy... Maybe the pair of you should get together and 'go shopping' in the bars around East Dulwich for good male-totty (if you do please warn mothers of single men in east dulwich so that they can lock their innocent sons up for the night !!)
  2. *BOB* Are you Kolley Kipper ?
  3. or maybe this should be shame the bankers Over the past few weeks there has been more and more stories about how bankers are going to receive bonus payments for the past financial year, and our beloved prime minister (gawd rest his soul) is up in arms that banks that have been bailed out are still paying bonuses despite their obvious losses and failures. According to today's papers (well the mail at least) the government is powerless to stop the bonus payments and the bankers due to receive them may well go to the European Court of Human Rights to keep them. As a result they are now appealing to bankers to not take the bonus payments rather then stopping them from being paid in the first place. therefore, I wish to start a campaign on here to shame any bankers that read this into (or alternatively if you know a banker then tell him / her) "DO NOT TAKING THAT BONUS PAYMENT" okay a slim chance that anyone will listen, but if there are enough voices added to the call then who knows we may well shame them yet...
  4. But as this is a FORUM (One of those dodgy mags sold on the top shelf) then what is wrong with an over 18 section ???
  5. After all the news coverage this week of this problem, and not intending to inflame anyone or the situation, I have to say I think the strikers are wrong Let me explain, it isn't because I think protectionism is a problem I don't even think the issue of foreign companies coming here is a problem No far from it I actually think their basic principle of 'British jobs for British people' is totally wrong. However there is a solution and nature provided it this week all by herself when she closed off the Severn bridge with chunks of Ice on it. I think the principle should well be "ENGLISH jobs for ENGLISH people" and that we need to land mine the Severn Bridge, send the national guard up to Hadrian's Wall and ensure that we totally close our borders down to anyone who wasn't born within the sound of bow-bells Now of course I could be totally wrong with this idea, but am interested in starting a lively discussion Spartacus

  8. A friend of mine keeps on talking about her special 'furry cup' which is never full and seldom used. I am confused as I have been to her kitchen and looked in the cupboards and not seen any cups that are either made of fur, have a fur cover or even growing a culture. I recently questioned her about this, where she keeps this fabled furry cup and why it is never full, I also offered to go down to the shops and get her something that I can slip into her cup to try and solve the problem....she gave me a funny look, told me to get out and hasn't called me since. Shhhheeessshh some people are so temperamental about their pessimism!!

She sounds in pain. > Leave off, and go to sleep! SORRY cdonline But me and mrs Spartacus are practicing for this years Romans and Slaves Show, held on Appian way as always, and I am just honing my "saw the wife in half trick" as you speak Am having awful problems as the instructions that came with the saw are in latin and I am just trying to confirm if I cut her lengthwise or widthwise - lengthwise seems to take longer but causes Mrs S to cry out in pain a lot more I'm Spartacus and the women in pieces over there is Mrs Spartacus
  14. Anyone but Ceaser .... Personally I am happy with all my nighbours, I have the "girl next door", "the old grumpy geezer", "the family" across the way and the "mad woman who runs naked down the road" Appian way is a normal street in anyones books if only there weren't so many chariots driving around at break neck speed!!
  15. In my day all we had to contend with was the Romans and their Chariots when we stepped onto the roads However I agree with the overall sentiment of this post, that drivers need to exercise caution at all times and that pedestrians also need to take responsibility for their actions as well!! But it does bring me to something tht makes my blood boil (more then being boiled alive in oil by Ceaser) There has been a series of adverts aimed at drivers of late, including the one where a small child is dead at the side of the road and saying if you hit me at 40 I have a 80% chance of dying, and if you hit me at 30 I have an 80% chance of surviving (don't ask me for the exact figures) The advert puts the emphasis totally on the driver for the accident and I agree with the overall sentiment of the advert (drive slower and careful) , however what makes me mad is that there are no counter adverts for children and parents basically saying 'don't play in the road and look both ways when crossing' Maybe I am not seeing them because I don't watch CITV but why don't we see adverts in the ilk of "the Green Cross Code Man" or "Tufty" or even the Hedgehog ones that used to be on any more? (okay apart from the fact that they were, looking back, naff adverts by todays standards) There needs to be an allround campaign to say "Drivers drive carefully, Pedestrians cross the road carefully and no one needs to have an unavoidable accident" and hopefully the message will get through to everyone! Road safety is the job of everyone and not just drivers.
  16. This year, along the Appian way The Romans will be mostly wearing Toga's and the rest of us from the uprising will be mostly wearing Thongs (leather or woollen) :-$
