  1. As you like to keep digging, I've ordered you one of these from toolstation near the Horniman's museum. https://www.toolstation.com/hawksmoor-all-steel-digging-spade/p67067?store=GE&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed You can take a bus (185, 176) from dog kennel hill to collect it and find out for yourself 😂
  2. Again, truing to twist and put words in my mouth that I didn't say. Maybe you should work for the Trump campaign as your tactics seem to echo his 🤣
  3. Again trying to incorrectly twist what I say, keep going as it is making you look even sillier Billy Did anyone actually suggest that we remove bus lanes for parking or is that all in your mind? You really are trying to make parking on wide streets where buses can also traverse without issues seem to be a problem when it's not. Yet you are ignoring that where bus lanes are removed for cycle lanes, it has a massive impact on journey times. Getting bored of your pedantic comments now
  4. Don't be a silly Billy When bus lanes are removed and replaced by cycle lanes, it slows buses down. As said, apart from a few residential streets, buses tend to traverse roads that have enough room for parked cars and buses to pass freely so your argument is nonsensical. Keep twisting, eventually you will tie yourself up in knots....
  5. It doesn't suggest that at all, you are simply twisting words to suit your narrative. If you think I did then you are very suggestible.
  6. Buses have bus lanes, they also operate mainly on wide roads where if cars are parked, it doesn't block them from moving so absolutely I do believe that parked cars, unless blocking the road for all users, don't slow down buses. What does slow down buses, are when cycle lanes are installed where bus lanes used to be, take Waterloo bridge as a prime example, or the Aldwich, both areas are now slower for buses then before TfL installed cycle lanes or pedestrian areas.
  7. Again you try to find hidden meaning in things. 😅 I am not going to be drawn by you nit picking a few words that you have selectively focused on. Accept the fact that a proper comstructive conversation needs to be had over how to incentives people to be less reliant on cars, where it is realistic and practical, rather than using a stick and making money from it. Unfortunately the human psyche is more lilkely to push back at being forced to do something, rather than discussing and agreeing a joint way forward.
  8. That's rubbish Billy At the moment it's school holidays and traffic is freer flowing, yet the buses aren't quicker. They still stop at the same stops, pick up as many passengers and are restricted to 20 mph. In fact if one dares to be quicker, then the dreaded "driver will wait here to regulate the service" occurs so even with less cars around, buses take just as long to get to their destination.
  9. Absolutely not, I knew someone would ask that sort of stupid question hence why the words "for example" followed it. If the cost of parking outside your own home is higher or the same as parking at your destination then maybe some people would choose to drive under those circumstances so a cpz where parking is restricted during the day doesn't make sense as a tool for reducing ownership and driving, however councils have hoodwinked us by using parking pressures and reduction in driving as an excuse for rolling them out. As I said, it's about time a constructive discussion was had maybe with a methaphorical carrot rather than a financial stick....
  10. Today, the BBC carried a story about 22 people they want to interview BBC News - Twenty-two people police want to find over disorder https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c74jl82445xo Love this guys image, basically it could be 80% of over weight 30s something men...
  11. Smacks of a publicity stunt from the description above. Possibly not but if it quacks like a duck....
  12. The concept that paying a fee to park will stop you driving is frankly ludicrous, if a driver has the choice between paying a small fortune to have a car outside their house all day plus cost of public transport vs driving the same car to a free car park at work (for example) then it's a no brainer which they choose and the cost of a CPZ hasn't then detered them from choosing alternative transport and encouraged them to drive more. Equally for a lot of people, especially outside of the center of London, a car is the only viable form of transport available and whilst, as Mal likes to harbinger on about, it's a big expense it is not always a luxury so additional costs of ownership (parking, tolls, congestion charges) don't discourage but do remove family funding from much needed areas (food, clothes... ) It's about time local authorities and government stopped seeing car drivers as a source of income and had grown up conversations about what is needed to help people become less reliable on cars. All that is occurring at the moment is resentment and the feeling that a car is a cash cow for authorities to milk.
  13. It has to be a Southwark consultation hub for future changes to "the square" as that's a full time occupation for that team... 😀
  14. Regardless of the reason, it's sad if they have gone
  15. Obviously one thing we are lacking is another DIY / trade tools type place. I mean we only have Toolstation, screwfix, Dulwich DIY, Plough, Shaun's and Leyland and there is so much improvement that needs to occur locally (not forgetting Labro in nunhead of course) . Stroll on homepage or wicks or b&q (lol did you know there is a " Be in queue" in Peckham? )
  16. Are you saying they are closing down, relocating or something else? Your post really isn't clear and their website doesn't add any explanation.
  17. Explain more, their website shows them as still open but phone lines down
  18. Bmx track ?
  19. Pavement parking is a ticketing incident across London, Unfortunately if your vehicle won't quite fit a space without infringing the pavement then the only choice is to use a different parking spot. Not always easy in a busy area. Personally I think you would be unsuccessful at appeal as the Warden will have photographed your vehicle being partially on the pavement and not fitting the parking spot isn't a defence. Good luck trying
  20. I'm all for cutting the cloth to suit your means but can't help feeling this is a mistake as it would have kept us at the forefront of emerging technologies. BBC News - Government shelves £1.3bn UK tech and AI plans - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cyx5x44vnyeo
  21. It's actually starting to get BORAing 🤣
  22. There's a huge park almost on top of the square that can be used for that sort of thing 🤣
  23. It does seem a rather large sum of money to add more space to an area overflowing with space. Could that money have been used elsewhere to make improvements? It does feel like there is a vested interest in the works going ahead rather than forensically examine cost vs benefit. But what do I know, I'm only a tax payer
  24. Count Binface ?
  25. Angelina and DiD What are your goals posting on this thread? Do you want to see Bora closed down, the unit become vacant and unrented only for the landlord to let another charity fill a space on our high street? Then what, go after William Rose the ice cream parlor and a few others until we have a desolate unvisitable high street because all you can buy will be coffee and charity (over exaggerating to make a point) If you have an issue with Bora, tell them, otherwise leave independents alone to thrive and enhance our high street. When I was younger, so much younger than today, my local high street had 5 greengrocers in it, which the supermarkets killed when they opened up. Sadly missed as they provided a variety of different tasty goods, advice and a hub for the elderly to visit daily for a little chat (about price of carrots, best way to cook xyz or what's good and in season) Sadly we seem to have lost community spirit and some of us want bland supermarket goods, despite the issues it causes our farmers and the countryside. Guess next you will go after the gift shops because amazon does it so much cheaper (here's to you Mrs Robinson, amazon wants to close you more than you will know, whoa whoa whoa) East Dulwich is great because it is mostly independent and eclectic so why make it difficult for our lovely businesses to survive?
