  1. Why do councils spend so much on pedestrian safety at crossings, adding sight lines, lights, safety islands when Vancouver have a simple effective safety solution.. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5PrTisS46a/?igsh=cnF5NWFrajNrMWdu There are of course other safety options that may be more effective 😉
  2. From personal experience, the potholes this year are worse than ever before, what causes them isn't the question, its more what can be done to repair the existing ones to prevent accidents to all road users ? As I mentioned, there are revenues being generated but not spent on fixing potholes and how do we get or shame the council into fixing them? 🤔
  3. The pot holes are getting worse, which is dangerous for all road users. I saw a recent item on the BBC news about one resident, not local, putting up home made warning signs and on social media some people have also put items in the pot holes and photographed them to draw attention to the problem. With all the extra revenue being taken from drivers by Southwark at the moment (LTN fines, CPZ revenue) surly they should be on top of the potholes, but alas they aren't. Therefore do we need some sort of publicity campaign to shame Southwark into action ? BBC News - 'Daventry Banksie' shares inspiration for pothole campaign https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-68735580 (Sorry its a mirror post but this is ducks in potholes) https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/cheeky-local-takes-matters-hands-32386337
  4. kyrgyzstan yak racing on 287 here we come
  5. So so sorry in advance Bin and gone 😅
  6. I think that food waste, like general waste, had to be collected for free but don't quote me on that post the election 🤔
  7. Nextdoor Posters, closely followed by EDF posters
  8. Obviously Mal Jong Un has a vision 🙄
  9. They must have identified you by your London passport being shown at the home counties border Mal, or by the way you spoke with your guardian Upper class accent 😀 You seem to be generating your own spin.for the election now, do you work for the greens ?
  10. Has this opened yet, if so is there link.to it's website or menu?
  11. @HeadNun makes you wonder why he wants a third term if its causing that many problems, most people would walk.away and get on with their lives if it was them.
  12. Most people I talk to don't lile him, but at the same time conclude he will.win because there isn't a credible alternative. Feels like it could be a win by apathy here and not by popularity 🤔
  13. That's very judgemental Mal, do you have proof of the demographics you are citing or is that just personal opinion 🤔? I heard a while ago that he's called Selfie Sid as he's always taking every photo opportunity he can, and after I heard that I can't stop laughing when I see him posing for a photo with someone famous.
  14. Good news The service is going to improve as Royal Mail want to deliver second class letters every other day, which is a lot better than now every other week 😀 BBC News - Royal Mail wants to cut days for second-class post https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68721814
  15. I guess the penny drops at different times for people.
  16. I agree, but like most things, someone will find a cheaper way of making them I suspect
  17. Came across this company recently who have potentially solved the issue of cargo bikes taking up so much space when not in use or when no cargo is required. https://www.convercycle.com/en/ With this sort of thinking, maybe the use of cargo bikes can be increased and it won't be long before we see more innovation like this. Lol what next, a car you can fold up smaller when you travel on your own 😂
  18. Oh I don't know Mal, the clocks changing over a long bank holiday weekend actually make it less painful as the majority of workers don't have to get up for work on Easter Monday so the impact is lessened. Maybe we need to campaign to make the change every Easter Sunday going forward. 🤔
  19. Happy Easter one and all, although I think the Easter Bunny has been confused by the clocks going forward as he hasn't been yet 😀
  20. How sad for all the people that work there, just as bills go up in April.
  21. Using cash is a good way of budgeting for some, if they don't have the cash in their pocket they can't buy things they may not need. Financial institutions are keen to get us to all use plastic and credit because its harder to spot when you are at your limit and debit equates to interest which is how they make money. So dear Sephiroth, before you slam people for being pro cash, maybe think about why they are and not just view the world from your limited perspective 🤔
  22. Hello Eileen Over the years you have objected to many proposals to improve Peclham town centre citing the romantic vision of Peckhams "low rise Georgian/Victorian townscape" as a reason to stop homes and improvements occurring. Let's be truthful here, Peckham Town Centre as it currently stands needs to improve, the proposal isn't out of keeping for london and we desperately need homes. Therefore what's your alternative proposal as objection without one is folly?
  23. Makes you think Rocks, makes you think 🤔
  24. I came across this article on the BBC today and whilst the use of face recognition cameras is a bit of an invasion of privacy at the same time I find the response from "big brother watch" a bit bizarre as surly any help the police get in capturing and removing criminals from the streets should be welcomed not frowned upon. BBC News - Met Police: Live facial recognition cameras result in 17 arrests in south London https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68638348 What do others think ?
  25. I feel like Nostradamus now.... BBC News - Energy prices could change at different times of the day https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68655725
