  1. It's more about sending a message to their management. The shop floor workers would have to escalate it to their shift managers to deal with so they won't be directly impacted. After all you're not refusing to pay, just asking for cash to be used.
  2. Maybe we should organise a cash campaign by all going in, ordering things then saying "I've only got cash on me" to see how they react. I wonder how they would deal with it if you had already eaten their products 🤔
  3. What happened with your cheese comparisons ?

  5. In the old days, the 12 used to run from Coulsdon to Notting Hill via East Dulwich, then the route was curtailed to Coulsdon then cut off from Notting hill so a total cut wouldn't surprise me
  6. I'm looking forward to seeing what the blue mountain site offers when it reopens Boy they used to do a good breakfast back in the day when Mel first opened it
  7. If you believe in privacy, then going cashless potentially means that a number of organisations, including your bank, will know every item you purchase and your lifestyle. Imagine a dystopia future (some would say we're there already) where every donut or pint of beer you purchase is shared with your health care insurance provider or the NHS and your lifestyle choices then effect the treatments you receive (extreme I know But who knew how much data facebook for example shared about us) Or if you regularly buy certain products, which are tracked by using your card rather than cash, how much more targeting marketing companies can aim at you. Cash really does allow you to have the illusion of controlling your data.
  8. The problem is that for a business, it costs time (and money) to count up cash, cash can go missing and then the banks charge to deposit or withdraw cash whereas cardless makes it easier to manage hidden costs plus less chance of accepting a dodgy note. It's why buses went cashless However, it does stop you wandering out with a fiver in your pocket and getting an incidental coffee or cake as you pass so whilst I see why businesses do it, I do belive they turn many away who would have spent cash with them. Now I guess I need to put a for sale post up for near perfect ?20 printing plates🤔
  9. Billy, it's not about the funding from central government but a managed decline in the number of buses in inner London so that he can provide more buses to outer London. The general managed decline you mentioned is about the whole of TfL and is a different strategy to get funding. This seems to be more about deployment of resources and potentially a carrot to encourage outer London car users to support an expanded ULEZ but the BBC london clip shows how so many are reliant on buses and reducing their service is going to impact them badly.
  10. Okay Next step In Word Click File > Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Display section. Select Show horizontal scroll bar and Show vertical scroll bar, and then click OK. If that doesn't help Step 3 On the Title bar in Word click Word. Click Preferences, and then click View. Make sure you have selectec Horizontal scroll bar and Vertical scroll bar and then close the dialog.

  12. Asset, if its that Suspicious double check by calling the police on 101. Whilst it may be innocent or not used on a crime, you could prevent future crime, the police can check it out in person.

  18. There's an article on bbc London news about the mayors plan to "have a managed decline in bus services in Central London" by reducing routes that duplicate each other and redeployment the buses to the outer boroughs. The report shows how difficult it is for some commuters to get on already packed buses. Tje cynic in me wonders if the redeployed buses to the outer zone is also a way to justify extending the ULEZ as the outer boroughs will be better served by buses.🤔 Food for thought, and I suspect the removal of duplicated routes in central london will backfire as badly as a badly tuned polluting car when commuters start to return to the office on mass.
  19. Sigh Kid, one upmanship over exactly where concord flew is so immature .. Especially as it was 110% for sure right over mine, as it used to make grandma Spartacus' teeth rattle in her glass

  23. Wasely, are you trying to knock Foxy of his much fought for "strange random response" pedestal? You have many more posts to do before you can go man o Mano with King Foxy 🤴
  24. Grass please London is already over developed and we need green spaces to provide mental wellbeing and lungs for the city. Trying to accommodate everyone who wants to live in London is like squeezing your size 16 body into a size 8 dress, eventually it will pop at the seams (if the gusset of infrastructures doesn't collapse first) Whilst it's not ideal, encouraging people not to move to London by moving jobs out of the capital and to areas where work is badly needed will give London a chance. The reality is that the more Homes that are built, the more people will want to live here, but like any supply and demand situation, if there's no supply, then the demand will look elsewhere. Sorry but building on green spaces isn't going to solve Londons overcrowding problem, but it possibly will make it worse. Anyway I thought everyone was going to work remotely from towns and cities outside London 🙃

Your post reminded me of a bus driver on the route 11 when, 18 years ago, they introduced the new titan class bus to the route which had tannoy systems for the first time. He spent the whole journey telling all the passengers about the bus what it was capable of, it was like he was reading the sales brochure 😆
