Delivery companies are adding to the obesity crisis by making it easier to order food that could be considered less healthy
  2. Ken, is kid talking correctly for you here ? It's how I interpreted your comment 😃
  3. I think that one of the concerns of flying is that the emissions occur higher up in the atmosphere where they have other impacts (this report explains the thinking https://www.carbonbrief.org/guest-post-calculating-the-true-climate-impact-of-aviation-emissions) It appears that the overall effect of flying has a bigger impact than the 2.8% identified in 2018. Yes, aircraft design changes are coming but electric planes won't be able to replicate the speed of a jet engined plane as we don't have that technology yet (it's why Jets superseded propeller planes) so we may have to accept increases in trip times to be truly green
  4. Companies like deliveroo and Just eat charge the business a massive amount to list them , host their menus and deliver yet pay peanuts to the delivery guys and girls Basically creaming off profits from local businesses just because it's easier for the consumer to use an app then loom up the business on their own website and call up to order. As Foxy said, it's better for the business to order direct and even better if they have their own people to deliver or you collect. Hopefully now the worst ( ? ) Of the pandemic is over people will return to going out and not relying on delivery services as a friend who owned a restaurant described them " they are just parasites" although like Ken points out, not using delivery services possibly means you are cooking and eating better.

  6. Go onto the Southwark planning portal and search for Barry parade, it will be the first one to pop up Interesting issue is that they are proposing a loading bay for two retail units along the parking bays where the bus stop is on Barry Road. Quote DELIVERY AND SERVICING 4.5.1 As part of the previous application (18-AP-2238), it was agreed with LBS to amend the kerbside arrangements on Barry Road, by converting the existing parking bay north of the bus border into a loading bay. The suggested restrictions for this loading bay were ?Loading Only 7am to 10am, Max Stay 40 minutes, no return within two hours?. 4.5.2 The amendments also required the existing double yellow lines ?no waiting at any time? restrictions at the southern kerb of the Barry Road / Peckham Rye to be extended 4.5m to the southwest to prevent multiple vehicles using the loading bay, which would subsequently improve access for buses trying to turn into Barry Road. 4.5.3 For completeness, a copy of the on-street arrangement previously agreed with LBS is provided at Appendix D. 4.5.4 It is proposed to retain the agreed servicing arrangement for the proposed development. The agreed servicing strategy involved the use of the amended loading bay on Barry Road, which is suitably located in order to minimise transfer distances to the entry points to the ground floor commercial units. 4.5.5 Where required within the commercial units, roll cages and trolleys will be stored internally, with goods being delivered directly to the appropriate units - an approach which was acknowledged as being acceptable within paragraph 48 of the LBS officer?s report in response to the previous application. 4.5.6 In order to deliver this proposal, the Applicant would help fund a proportionate contribution towards an amendment to the Traffic Management Order which is anticipated to be incorporated within the Section 106 agreement. Unquote Now I'm not an expert but a bus at the stop and a lorry parked up outside the parade will create a hazard for cyclists and cars trying to get passed. Not a practical or safe solution in my mind
  7. Fine Especially when asking a Loved one about a situation because you damn well know it's not and will be brought up later when you least expect it, But dear reader, don't worry I'm "fine"

I've never > known a public toilet to contain a bath. Why can't > they just say Toilet, for f7&k's sake! If you ever went to the gents in the old Upland Tavern, you would have know why bathroom was appropriate as you often felt like you bathed in it after wading through misdirected 2nd hand beer 🤨
  9. It's worth checking your bank balance for the rebate of ?150 as you may already have received it thus giving you confidence in ignoring any scam messages to claim your rebate.
  10. According to the article "The activists say they will leave the park by Monday 18 April to make way for a traveller?s funeral procession" Knowing travellers funerals, that's a going to be a spectacular sight to see.

Whilst this is possibly not the correct path to follow, given that the government are planning on opening more safe routes into the UK, how would people propose to removing the people smugglers from the equation?
  12. We've got a picture house!!!🧐 Who knew ?
  13. SpringTime, are you trying to say they are selling me a dream. Well no thank you very much the one where I go to work naked is bad enough hence why I don't go out much KidKruger or Socalise DR as I don't want that dream expanding into a naked trip to the pub (let's be honest absolutely no one would want to see that) No thank you indeed, one bad dream at a time is enough for me

  16. The real question is Regardless of political party or current role in government or shadow governents, who would you vote for as prime minister if there was an election tomorrow ? To be honest my choice is simply none of the current MPs
  17. Is it just me or is there something a little weird about how advertisers show their house "sets" for different products? A prime example is adverts for vacuum cleaners/ carpet cleaners where the sofas are covered in crumbs and pet hairs or there is a big pile of dirt on the carpet. Obviously the fake family are so messy that they need the product but most real people don't have homes like that (or do they?). Other examples are massive luxury kitchens in food delivery or food kits adverts or bathrooms bigger than the inside of the Tardis for toilet cleaners All quite surreal if you ask me.

I agree that it's horrible and getting worse but on the lighter side I suspect dogs can't read and the stencils are useless to them 😉
