  1. Possibly / hopefully a short lived role !
  2. Whilst you are right heart block, by not voting labour for mayor or gla membership it may well send a message to local councillors that they might need to rethink their stance. Count binface is as good as any for a protest vote (or second preference protest vote) IMHO

  5. Whilst I don't disagree with closing north cross road , there aren't enough eating establishments along there to make it viable Now if you also closed some shops and make them cafes / bars / restaurants then totally feasible
  6. Maybe as a borough rahrahrah, that's true with virtually no car ownership in the north part and possibly multiple cars per house in the south. But if you break it down to areas then around here the percentage would be closer to 80 or 90% as we aren't in central London nor do we have as much public transport Quoting a figure of 40% for a whole borough is misleading when it comes to local Dulwich issues.
  7. Bye bye baby , bye bye https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-56848233
  8. Nigelo How do you know it's not a must or in the case of disabled and elderly, the only option I agree school runners are part of the problem but there needs to be a consultation where the council actually pays attention to the residents and not just lip service. The people have a long memory and next May isn't far away 🤔
  9. It's hip to Mayor. That's sold it for me 😎
  10. Following on from my last post here, with the warning, there's a increase in people trying to get here from India before Friday. BBC News - Heathrow refuses to allow extra flights from India https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56837107 Hardly a surprise to anyone with half a brain cell, but at what risk of more variants arriving?

Could be an interesting case against councils for increasing pollution by trying "badly" to reduce it.
  12. All this evidence should be used to discuss the situation with the council when they do their consultation on the LTNs !
  13. Love The Counts hashtag Edited due to spell checker "hostage"
  14. What the funk !!! We all need to get behind The Count and make this a two horse race. although saying "The Count" made me think of Sesame Street
  15. Have you registered for the consultation on the LTN's ?

I agree It was a historical moment that will forever be etched on my mind. Especially well done during this pandemic where a full state style funeral isn't possible.
  17. CPR Dave, I take it you're talking about Crystal Palace Road ? Whilst I understand your sentiments, it would be far better if the existing LTN barriers are removed to restore normal services to all roads in the area.
  18. Whilst this relates to Crystal Palace, the narrative seems very familiar.
  19. India has just been added to the red list (hotel quarantine required when entering the UK from India) But restrictions come into force Friday at 4am Why are they not immediate ? If people are travelling back then they could be carrying the new double variant, the variant won't be saying "okay I'll wait till Friday to infect people" I just don't understand why warning is given of the new restrictions.
  20. I would recommend a mesh (as shown by the cat) over a repeater The repeater will set up a second Wi-Fi network so as you move from one section to the next you will need to reconnect to each network (most devices do it seamlessly but sometimes they try to retain the weaker signal) so it's not one seamless experience. A mesh will give you a single Wi-Fi network through the whole property so no issues moving between locations Downside is mesh costs a lot more but can result in a better experience Their is a vast choice out there Final option is to upgrade to a more powerful router that uses 802.11n but that's an expensive option at the moment 😱
  21. Hi James How much financially can the council bring to the table to support the retail businesses as we start to ease out of the worst this pandemic? Knowing that will enable realistic ideas to be put forward.
  22. Nigello, with the proposal for a "supermarket local" type store at the bottom of the Barry Parade development, with a loading bay outside for delivery Lorry's , mixed with a bus stop opposite the click house, plus additional cars for the Kings Court development topped off by drivers visiting the store it just doesn't bode well for road safety at that junction.
  23. Imagine if this development went ahead along with the proposal for Barry Parade (application ref : 18/AP/2238) The junction of Barry Road would become a nightmare 😱
  24. Bob This may be more up your street
  25. You're right blah blah, the budget for services would still be there and needed but the cost for city hall, city hall workers, assembly members , tsars , the Mayor and all associated expenses wouldn't. That's multi millions that could be used for London centric projects / needs and not just on a layer of bureaucracy that sits between local councils and the government.
