  1. There's no joined up travel connections on Rye Lane now, zero chance for the disabled or elderly to shop on it as they can't get there by bus. The Lane should be reopened to buses at a minimum ! Not everyone can walk or cycle and it's discrimination against the disabled and elderly.
  2. I thought the interview with the conservative lady on BBC this morning was interesting When she was asked if cronyism was having an effect, she responded that people were voting on local issues not national as they've spent the last year locally so things like overhanging trees are more important (I briefly caught it so it's not a verbatim quote) It's what local elections should all be about our local councillors would do well to listen to that advice 🤔
  3. I'm disappointed Came onto this thread thinking it was a knitwear discussion. Oh well, guess I was fishing for something different !

  6. BooHoo, in 20 years time we will all be driving electric cars, so children's lungs and their health won't be effected But at the moment, elderly, disabled and other lives are being made difficult with areas now no go zones to them because walking and cycling isn't an option. LTNs aren't working as they push pollution away to other streets whilst making a privileged few feel smug in their Lycra 🤔
  7. Possibly / hopefully a short lived role !
  8. Whilst you are right heart block, by not voting labour for mayor or gla membership it may well send a message to local councillors that they might need to rethink their stance. Count binface is as good as any for a protest vote (or second preference protest vote) IMHO

  11. Whilst I don't disagree with closing north cross road , there aren't enough eating establishments along there to make it viable Now if you also closed some shops and make them cafes / bars / restaurants then totally feasible
  12. Maybe as a borough rahrahrah, that's true with virtually no car ownership in the north part and possibly multiple cars per house in the south. But if you break it down to areas then around here the percentage would be closer to 80 or 90% as we aren't in central London nor do we have as much public transport Quoting a figure of 40% for a whole borough is misleading when it comes to local Dulwich issues.
  13. Bye bye baby , bye bye https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-56848233
  14. Nigelo How do you know it's not a must or in the case of disabled and elderly, the only option I agree school runners are part of the problem but there needs to be a consultation where the council actually pays attention to the residents and not just lip service. The people have a long memory and next May isn't far away 🤔
  15. It's hip to Mayor. That's sold it for me 😎
  16. Following on from my last post here, with the warning, there's a increase in people trying to get here from India before Friday. BBC News - Heathrow refuses to allow extra flights from India https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56837107 Hardly a surprise to anyone with half a brain cell, but at what risk of more variants arriving?

Could be an interesting case against councils for increasing pollution by trying "badly" to reduce it.
  18. All this evidence should be used to discuss the situation with the council when they do their consultation on the LTNs !
  19. Love The Counts hashtag Edited due to spell checker "hostage"
  20. What the funk !!! We all need to get behind The Count and make this a two horse race. although saying "The Count" made me think of Sesame Street
  21. Have you registered for the consultation on the LTN's ?

I agree It was a historical moment that will forever be etched on my mind. Especially well done during this pandemic where a full state style funeral isn't possible.
  23. CPR Dave, I take it you're talking about Crystal Palace Road ? Whilst I understand your sentiments, it would be far better if the existing LTN barriers are removed to restore normal services to all roads in the area.
  24. Whilst this relates to Crystal Palace, the narrative seems very familiar.
  25. India has just been added to the red list (hotel quarantine required when entering the UK from India) But restrictions come into force Friday at 4am Why are they not immediate ? If people are travelling back then they could be carrying the new double variant, the variant won't be saying "okay I'll wait till Friday to infect people" I just don't understand why warning is given of the new restrictions.
