  2. The awkward thing about bringing people over to look after us as we age, is that eventually they will age and require looking after which means we need more people to come over and look after them and when they age .... It's a vicious circle and the ideal solution is going back to extended families where the younger generation all help to look after the older generation. But the western world moved away from that in the pursuit of happiness through home ownership and as a result ...
  3. Whilst we're all on here debating the merits of LTNs to (apparently) improve air quality and drive down emissions, at the same time multi millionaires are blasting into space having joy rides that in one flight potentially will do more damage to the atmosphere then all the cars in London. Where is Alanis Morissette when you need her vocals most ?
  4. I guess the parking depends on factors Business owners possibly want it back as it allows people to pop in and collect heavy or bulky goods Diners don't want it at night so they can sit outside on a Summer's evening Pedestrians are possibly indifferent , some for , some against Cyclists ... who knows
  5. It's funny, the media are now believing every word from a man they hounded for lying about his "eye test trip" He's out for revenge so I'm taking everything he says with a pillar of salt 🤔 I wonder how long it will be before he calls for a new PM chorus "if not now, when?" 😆
  6. Is anyone else getting fed up of the new slogan "if not now, when?" It could be applied in so many different ways For example "is it a good time to die from Covid?" Chorus "if not now, when?" 😱

I'll hazard a guess, after Covid , "me old China" is possibly out of Vogue now! Even though it's cockney for China plate (mate)
  11. I believe that The Lane safer neighbourhood police team have this on their list of ward priorities and you should contact that team directly to report any issues rather than the council who are not the right people to deal with this It's potentially a multi agency issue and the starting point is the SNT. 020 8721 2769 [email protected]

  13. KK has it Seabag. But again you seem to be posting two different answers on two different threads Is this like the two Ronnie's mastermind sketch where the chosen subject was answering the question before 🤔

  18. The 19th of July (tomorrow) is being dubbed freedom day after a long lockdown. Numbers of covid cases are on the rise and hospital cases are also starting to show an uptick. Question is will you A) Keep taking the same precautions as you have been for the last few months (masks, a bit of social distancing, respect others space) B) Throw caution to the wind and gladly get rid of restrictions. or C) A combination of both depending on where you are and what you are doing.

If you are, they are calling you Sir because they are very very worried about you...
  21. So the big question, going back to Renata's post nearly 8 months ago, is "what's happening to the faulty mast ?" Renata any update ?

I think the call to remove it then have a proper mediated study and consultation is the way forward. Especially as the majority of "non compliant" cars will soon be removed from the area as part of the ULEZ. What then? the council claiming a massive success for their schemes whilst tfl also claim the same (effectively double counting) Let's get a London wide scheme in first to see its impact before adding potentially unnecessary layers to the cake.
