Duncanw, it's a curiosity,I didn't infer anything, you are trying to read between the lines too much and making your own conclusion. But to put the record straight, I find any mayor of London an expensive layer of bureaucracy that possibly isn't needed. After all between the abolition of the GLC and the first new mayor we didn't have the whole circus and things ran without any real problems.

I was listening to, without watching, the BBC 10 o'clock news tonight and thought they were advertising a new episode of Red Dwarf as I swear I heard Arnold Rimmer speaking, then I looked up and saw it was Kier Starmer launching labours run up to local elections. I now can't watch him without hearing Space Corp Directive 435, no opposition leader should wear plaid in the house of commons 😱

When does a missed bin collection get re-collected?
Spartacus replied to Supercam's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I find that you report it, they respond a few days later saying in the next few days it will be collected and in reality it will be the next actual scheduled collection day ... The covid situation seems to have slowed the whole reporting process down but hopefully I'm wrong and you will have a better experience. -
Is that down to half of London believing Khan has done a good job or a case of not wanting a Tory mayor ? Would be interesting to understand rationale

There is a story on the news that Meghan had now complained about Piers' comments to ITV ... Does this potentially mean that anyone who disagrees with her comments on here will be contacted by her lawyer ?

Beware of the trick question Is anyone staying overnight on census day that doesn't normally live with you ? We're in a lock down when staying at other people's houses are banned ....

My feeling is that things like this should be taken with a pinch of salt and the facts examined not the hysteria around the story. The Piers thing for example attracted a lot of complaints to ofcom, but I have to question how many of those complaining actual saw him say it and how many are jumping on a social media bandwagon and complaining without actually having seen the event happening? Their complaints aren't ant less important but would they have occurred if they weren't told about it? 🤔 We are becoming a society where we judge via social media based on what Karen put on facebook without examining the truth to draw our own conclusions.

I do wonder what Meghan's longer game plan is? Talk show host, book(s) , film on her life ,political role? It seems to me that she is setting the stage up for something bigger in her mind. Hopefully the Americans will tire of their story soon when it runs out of new shocking revelations about how the Queen trained the Corgis to poop in her shoes or similar and they will fade from public view after her fifteen minutes of fame. Oh well back to the pandemic which is blighting real lives all around us.

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill?the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill?you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.

Are any of the candidates standing on a "consultations required for traffic management schemes, expansion of the ULEZ and LTNs" agenda ? They could very well get a lot of support if they did 🤔

Just a thought, every little girl (yes there are exceptions) grows up wanting to meet a handsome princess fall in love and be a princess (I still have my Cinderella outfit 🤔) Yet reality has struck Meghan when it happened to her and it has to be naive of her not to understand what marrying into the Windsor family would entail (sadly Princess Diana was a recent case from history) But to air your dirty laundry in public on media talk shows doesn't bode well for future relationships with her now extended family and for Harry's relationship with them. To help put her comments into context, let's not also forget her very public spats with her father pre wedding.

It's happened, but despite not wanting to watch it , it is dominating the news Would hate to have my family issues aired in public like that. It sounds more like Jeremy Kyle should be doing the interview from the clips I've heard... "so Andrew, Meghan said you did xyz, what have you got to say about that" or "and you say Harry's not your child, would you care to see the paternity test we did on that ? Results after the break !"

Blimey give some people a yard and they will take a meter 😱 Imagine the cost of doing this (every road sign, road map....) what about nautical miles (global standard) and then what ? Everyone drive on the right ? Madness, all madness and I'll wager a groat it won't happen
