But that's what you have been doing by saying its only a small minority and going on about the pressure to get rid of cars As there's been no other formal or informal consultation (as you are dismissing the streetspace common place and other petitions) then you are only interpreting your hearsay and views of like minded people. Simple solution is a transparent, defined and fair consultation where the rules and assessment criteria are known in advance. But you never seem to agree to that. Why is that DC ? Are you afraid that you will find yourself in the minority ?

Rockets Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Maybe it's what we have to expect and live with in > age of the The Closure Cult ;-) I've searched desperately for what "the closure cult" sang I was hoping for "driving in my car" , "fast car" or "I drove all night" but instead it was "get out of my car" Disappointing 😱😂😂
  3. DulwichCentral Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Everyone is free to openly support the LTN > if they want to. Again, its a free country. Interesting you say that yet you also said in an earlier post: "As pointed out above by @March46 the commonplace feedback is open to corruption, as was the petition against the closures which didn't request postcode verification." So which is it, people who don't live locally can get involved regardless of which side their support land on or they can't ? I'm nightly confused by what you actually want DC !🤔
  4. Not according to the King of Leon BBC News - Leon boss warns longer lockdown 'will cost lives' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56137815
  5. I'm sure that every person who's life is saved by a slow unlocking, wouldn't agree with your last statement Cat It's a matter of perspective, too slow for businesses and economy, but too fast to stop additional infections and deaths Not a roadmap I would want to draw up or be held accountable for.
  6. And if the 729 were in favour of the LTN would you will be discussing it as unrepresentative ? That's democracy in action, whomever gets the majority vote (regardless of whom voted) wins

Most sites like this are built and maintained by third parties including some of the tools on southwarks own website However the key is that the council told people to use it as a comment gathering service. Do you have any evidence of bot activity or are you just speculating?
  8. Just playing Terra Firma now Mellow Friday afternoon vibes
  9. Ex and DC You sound like children caught with their arms deep in the cookie jar and trying to blame everyone else when a grown up finds out the truth As rockets said, it's not a vocal minority and as a minimum it demonstrates the need for a fair, unbiased and accountable consultation to occur Do you deny the need for said consultation to get an accurate picture or are you still grabbing at crumbs at the bottom of that jar ?
  10. I'm waiting on the new album by Tash Sultana, Terra Firma, to be delivered today and I'll see if any tracks are worth adding to this list But based on her last album I hope/expect so.. .
  11. Lol There was a strong field of contenders to be the architect so it wasn't a case they were too busy, just didn't win the bid. https://www.designboom.com/architecture/the-factory-manchester-shortlist-zaha-hadid-oma-rem-koolhaas-diller-scofidio-renfro-09-23-2015/ There is a denier question that I thought about this morning. If a worker in a care home refuses to be vaccinated and subsequently gets Covid and people in their care catch it from the worker and die. Could the worker be charged with manslaughter for not taking appropriate precautions ? It would be an interesting legal case I think
  12. DR Maybe the ones who post in the same thread just like talking to themselves, gawd knows this lock down has found me asking myself questions and not being happy with my own answers But I'm in two minds over my theory 😱😝
  13. DC I've asked a similar question before but didn't get an answer If the analysis from one Dulwich showed an overwhelming positive response for the scheme would you be crowing about it or still be saying that the site is open to abuse and the results should be disregarded ? What's your answer DulwichCentral ?

That's something you need to take up with the council as the site was created, maintained and promoted by the council The one Dulwich report just used the same data that the council would have access to. If you believe there is something underhand about the data and site then discuss it with the council who can put your mind at rest or confirm the situation

I assume Henry and yourself are aware of Soutwark's Commonplace site that was set up to collect feedback on the road closures and other measures ss the part of the Council's Covid Streetspace scheme And the summation of the data https://dulwichalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Dulwich-has-Spoken.pdf It's where southwark asked us to tell them our views and the majority said there are problems and want the scheme removed.

  17. Interesting story today about potential rules around employing vaccinated staff, the minefield of current employees and how some countries in Europe are coping with vaccine rwfusers. 18. If it's the one on Barry Parade, it's been closed for about ten years, next to Barry road barbers and there was also a decent Chinese (ye wah) and an Indian plus a taxi office Them were the days

Who knows And quite frankly, who cares as long as the pubs can reopen safely and we can go to them without infecting each other It will be a step back to normality , to meeting friends and feeling alive again instead of this half life we are in during lock down where everyone focuses on every small detail 🤔

  21. Huggers I bet that looks awful especially as most communal bins (in tower blocks for example) are not maintained by the residents, tend to overflow between collections or be abused by non residents using them to dump all sorts of stuff, plus during a pandemic sharing bin space isn't a great idea. Just my observation

Ah Sorry it's the Friday before your second vaccine Better luck next pandemic 😂
  23. A Friday in 2021 is the correct answer See you there then

As the UK relies on over 50% of its food to be imported, the concept of hard borders wouldn't have been practical as you can just imagine the headlines "Starving the many to save the few" A pandemic is a no win scenario and no matter what decisions a government makes, there will always be those who lose out.

Then when someone suggests > that the wealthy elite of Dulwich Village can > afford a taxi to the Dr's - you're outraged. > > Can't have it both ways ;) At the moment, just because someone lives in a house worth 1 or 2 million, it doesn't necessarily follow that they can afford to take taxis everywhere They may be struggling to pay the mortgage or have other financial constraints That said, why won't the council do a proper and lawful consultation on LTNs ? Are they running scared that residents will disapprove of the schemes forcing the clique of people who do want LTNs to have to back down ? If there isn't a consultation soon then what little faith there is in the council being unbiased will be eroded and the elections a year from now could be a bloodbath!
