Lol is the lesson "hermits don't get the lurgy" ? But again a good point, we all need better hands and face hygiene going forward into winters to additionally suppress winter illnesses

In a nutshell side streets are narrow, without passing room for a lorry and car to go in opposite directions so one or the other will have to back up or cause a log jam of vehicles The lorries thunder down the roads (not respecting the 20 mph limit) and if they hit a pedestrian not expecting them on a quiet street then it will be quite nasty. Basically side roads aren't designed for regular use by big lorries
  4. What you are saying blah blah is perfectly correct However, it does give us an opportunity to start to fight back against flu spreading in future years. I have a feeling that hands, face and space or similar guidance will be here for a few winters to come. If that's the case then combined with the flu vaccine we could see flu going the same way as measles If people around the world aren't catching it on mass then it possibly won't mutate and be less virulent till it virtually dies out. One can but hope
  5. Random thought of the day Two options if this event is going ahead 1. Organise a boycott of it so that it isn't a success 2. Organise a protest to occur at the same time to highlight the pollution the road closures are causing elsewhere Either work against it (option 1) or use it to your own advantage (option 2) Viva la Revolution

I've witnessed large lorries, including Conway and others using the Barry Road entrances into Upland, Sylvester and Whateley roads to get to lordship lane. I will speculate that they are coming from the rye end of Barry road and down side streets rather than going down the main roads to east dulwich roundabout. Possibly but not verified, to avoid traffic that is heavier due to the LTNs and closed streets. No traffic studies are bring conducted to look at weight of vehicles using our back roads vs main roads

But failing that I'm going to buy one of the disused DUKW vehicles that the tour company in London isn't using any more (they look like this : https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23595/lot/143/) DC you need to get your DUKWs in a row if you are linking installing LTNs to stopping global warming as the UK and European car industry is being moved away from fossil fuels ...
  11. Binge watched Zero Zero Zero on sky Tried Damien but not convinced (yet)
  12. I'm now getting the next iteration of the Amazon prime renewal calls It goes "You have spent ?399 pounds on your amazon order and your purchase will be dispatched soon. If you did not make this purchase press 1 to cancel." Really can't wait to see what I bought, hoping it's at least something useful or frivolous like a drum kit so next time a spammer calla I can play my drums down the phone to them.😱
  13. Just saw this on the news : BBC News - Car smashes into Newham house in early hours https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-56174464 It happened in an LTN which is a bit weird.
  14. With shows now starting to match actors to their roles Disabled Actors in Disabled roles LGBT Actors in LGBT roles BAME Actors voicing BAME characters in animations What's going to happen to characters like Peter Pan in pantos? Will political correctness see boys playing the leading roles and Dames being played by girls ?
  15. James With the roadmap announcement last night and all covid restrictions to be removed no earlier than the 21st June, is there any justification to keep or install new driving restrictions which were imposed under the partial reason of "to enable social distancing to keep people safe from Covid" past the 21St June ? What's the councils stance on this ?
  16. With last nights roadmap to unlocking announced and the plan for full restrictions to be removed no earlier than the 21st June, does this imply that making streets covid safe will also be removed ? Could make an interesting challenge to part of the reasons used by Southwark for closing off roads in East Dulwich and Peckham 🤔
  17. I guess this is appropriate as a choice for chocolate (sorry DC, may not be up your street 😱)
  18. 21st June for everything, if all goes well Then we can really party like its 1999

There are deniers (conspiracy theorists and such like) and vaccine refusers Both groups are not mutually exclusive and they may well die out as time goes by.
  20. DulwichCentral Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > @Rockets thinks it's 'very clever' to interpret > incomplete data to suit an agenda. > > There we have it. But that's what you have been doing by saying its only a small minority and going on about the pressure to get rid of cars As there's been no other formal or informal consultation (as you are dismissing the streetspace common place and other petitions) then you are only interpreting your hearsay and views of like minded people. Simple solution is a transparent, defined and fair consultation where the rules and assessment criteria are known in advance. But you never seem to agree to that. Why is that DC ? Are you afraid that you will find yourself in the minority ?
  21. Rockets Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Maybe it's what we have to expect and live with in > age of the The Closure Cult ;-) I've searched desperately for what "the closure cult" sang I was hoping for "driving in my car" , "fast car" or "I drove all night" but instead it was "get out of my car" Disappointing 😱😂😂
  22. DulwichCentral Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Everyone is free to openly support the LTN > if they want to. Again, its a free country. Interesting you say that yet you also said in an earlier post: "As pointed out above by @March46 the commonplace feedback is open to corruption, as was the petition against the closures which didn't request postcode verification." So which is it, people who don't live locally can get involved regardless of which side their support land on or they can't ? I'm nightly confused by what you actually want DC !🤔
  23. Not according to the King of Leon BBC News - Leon boss warns longer lockdown 'will cost lives' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56137815
  24. I'm sure that every person who's life is saved by a slow unlocking, wouldn't agree with your last statement Cat It's a matter of perspective, too slow for businesses and economy, but too fast to stop additional infections and deaths Not a roadmap I would want to draw up or be held accountable for.
  25. And if the 729 were in favour of the LTN would you will be discussing it as unrepresentative ? That's democracy in action, whomever gets the majority vote (regardless of whom voted) wins
