  1. Thanks Em, fab idea. I've been meaning to post for a while that I asked in the EDT as that is where we started and they were fine with the idea of us descending one lunchtime. Obv if anyone can sling their baby it'd help with space! But whenever I go for lunch or walk past they're quite empty at lunch. 1pm one day? Mondays, Weds and Fridays get my vote. Hope we can manage to get a good crowd. Ginny and Amber
  2. My sis in law went to Tiger (shops in Lewisham and Croydon). Great fun, cheap and cute small things for kids. She also sewed a cut out fabric initial onto small cloth bags for each child, look great but obv more effort!
  3. I'm up for doing something Weds (tomorrow) if anyone is around. Still keep meaning to ask the EDT if they'll have us back for a "reunion" of sorts - will get onto it. They're pretty empty at lunchtimes so hopefully would work. Sal - I saw your other half on the news the other day! Still haven't managed to see where his place is though? I look every time but have failed! Hope to see some of you soon Ginny
  4. Hi Victoria. We have a standing 11.30am meetup on Mondays at Peckham Rye Park cafe though numbers have been dwindling! Is anyone around today? Ginny and Amber
  5. Thanks all! Things have improved a bit so hopefully not going to be a regular thing.
  6. Our 3 month old (previously a good sleeper) is now proving near impossible to return to her cot after a night feed or if (like just now!!) she's woken with really bad wind. She falls asleep almost immediately on the shoulder or in our arms but if you then try to lower her into the cot the second her back hits the mattress she's awake and screaming like she has an inbuilt spirit level or something. Only solutions seem to be waiting a long time before trying to return to cot or breastfeeding lying down in our bed (only takes 5-10 mins) til asleep and then gingerly transposing to cot (not full proof method either) Any other ideas? We have only had her in her cot 6 nights and before that 7 nights on holiday in a cot (before that was Moses) so not sure if it's just getting used to the cot? Though she settled fine when going to bed first time each night. The clocks going back haven't helped her sleep (nice early mornings!!!) but not sure that is why this is happening as it started last week. Thanks!!
  7. There isn't a pool but this place is fab and a bit different: http://www.colabeach.com/ I stayed 3 nights there in about 2009. Very cool accommodation, only about 7 tents, all have ensuite bathrooms. Food was delicious, private beach, great staff.
  8. Hoped to go but we woke up at 11 and now feeding. Away next week but will try to sort out a bigger meetup soon. Powerprammers, when does that end? As otherwise thought meetup should perhaps move to Tues for the big meet? Idea being we meet for a longer period over lunch so people can come and go over a couple of hours? Ginny and Amber
  9. Yes that's right. Any powerprammers for 12.30 be good to see you beforehand!
  10. Thanks Lou! I'll be up for tomo assuming I feel ok as hubby has a bad cold so hoping I don't get it! I'll post if I'm not going so otherwise see you there. Hope to see some others too. Ginny and Amber
  11. Hi all, I'm planning on seeing "Girl Most Likely" at Peckham cinema on Thurs if anyone else is going/fancies it? Was also thinking it would be great to try to get a bigger meet up together now all bumps are babies but can't think where will take us all with buggies as meeting outside less likely now the weather is turning. Any ideas? I know the EDT is quite empty at lunch times so planning to ask their thoughts when next walking past. Any other ideas? Ginny

    Xmas dinner

The Clockhouse is advertising Xmas lunch so could check that out.
  13. Yes looks like Nakfa which is open but at strange times. Wonder if something else (good!) will replace?!
  14. I was just about to ask the same. We're up for it. Ginny and Amber
  15. I've got a cover which really helps (so doesn't matter what I'm wearing) BebeChic is the make, cheaper than another one I've seen, nice pattern and folds up into carrybag. Mine lives in bottom of buggy and gets lots of use. Good luck.
  16. I was at Kings and they did want to induce at 10 days over - I said no about 8 days over so they sent me for a scan (which was fine) and booked me to see a consultant in a few days. I had a few unsuccessful sweeps then the day before my consultant appt I had a sweep on 10 days over which set things off - natural start to labour (just not natural end!) and had baby by emergency c section 12 days over after all that! It's your choice as others have said, as long as you have all the information and are happy then don't let them push. I think they seem to be offering induction at 10 days over as standard as many of my NCT group had that offered / slightly pushed. Good luck!
  17. With my 8 week old girl we've had the following experiences: Huggies Given some Huggies by a friend - loved them so bought more at Costco - AWFUL - leak, can't hold in the smaller poos - then realised they were American which makes sense as knew Huggies being discontinued in Europe. Sainsbury's own Similar to Huggies - didn't contain things and find the nappy gets squashed between the legs causing a lump and meaning more likely to leak (US Huggies did similar). Pampers Unfortunately love these the most - contain even the most explosive poos (as long as you change soon after) and the colour changing strip is so useful (yellow at start, goes green when nappy is wet). I'd buy a small pack of each you want to try and see what works for you - then go bulk either Amazon, CostCo or shop offers. Note - you can join Amazon Family for 3 months and you get Amazon Prime free for those 3 months - (just make a note in your diary to cancel the Prime in 3 months or they'll automatically take your money to put on you Prime going forward). Means you get free next day delivery on most items. Amazon have some nappy offers at the moment. Recently I got a good offer on Pampers in Tesco but I think Amazon have just beaten it by a long shot!! ;o(
  18. I might be up for that, where to meet first? Ginny
  19. So wanted to come today but also waiting for a 9-5 delivery ;( Haven't met Juliet yet and haven't seen the twins for at least 10 weeks! Next time hopefully!! Ginny and Amber
  20. I can (I am biased but still) point you to one of the sites in the Guardian article that EmilyPie posted as it's my sister-in-law's website http://www.welovesquirrels.com/ I've bought some great stuff here and believe one brand stocked is even an ED-based business! Items are also beautifully wrapped before being speedily shipped.
  21. Finally spoke to someone at Ritzy who could explain. Main screen (300 seats) is showing About Time (Richard Curtis film) and The Way Way Back is on the other screen.
  22. I don't know if they will allow parties but both Victoria Inn on Bellenden Rd and The Florence in Herne Hill have separate indoor play area rooms. Vic Inn room has a TV in the pub where u can watch/monitor the kids in playroom while sat in the pub!
  23. Lou, I'll see you there as I'm already going with my NCT crew One thing to note, website says its the new Richard Curtis film, in cinema and printed details it says its showing "The Way Way Back"! The guy I spoke to in the cinema last week didn't know which was correct!!! You have to pay ?1 "annual membership" (apparently that gets them around fact the babies are all too young to officially "see" the higher rated films!!) You also have to leave buggies outside the room which I can't picture as its such a small place!! Trying it for the first time so interested to check out what Amber thinks ;)) Ginny
  24. I'll probably be up for meeting next week if people are going. Sorry to miss today.
