According to what I understand TFL are taking around 700 buses off the road, which equates to roughly 10% of what's currently out there. I'm not sure of the ins & outs or how much truth is in this. I think 2019 will reveal more...... This is just a information post for anyone who may be interested

I am considering buying a car seat for my 6yr old. Can anybody recommend a good quality one, or does anybody have a decent one for sale. Also, can car seats be used if a child is sitting in the front passenger seat? Thanks

Could it be the previous owners went bankrupt & sold it on to family who have a new branding? There is a reason I posted this, I have seen my previous nursery owner go bankrupt but yet have other businesses running..... Edited to add the nursery owner previously worked for inland revenue for 10 years!

The banks' customer service has gone down the pan! Most banks I think.... At least the ones I use! One thing that I find really irritating is when calling the banks you tend to speak to people all over the world other than in the uk! I recently opened an account for my son at metro bank.... I rather like their system. So far we have only deposited money in my sons account..... So far so good. Plus point.... They open until late in the evening & weekends & bank holidays!

My son is due to go to uni very soon. He has no accommodation sorted out as yet due to getting a late clearing place. Is there anyone who can advise us on a route to go down or do you know anyone in the university area who would be willing to rent out a room to him. He is not the most sociable person & generally keeps himself to himself. Ideally a family environment would be good. Thanks in advance

They sold off the whateley rd entrance which is now a residential property, I think they use bawdale rd now -

Advice has been sought from a friend whom is a social worker & it seems there's not a lot that can be done about the situation once the young person is able to answer all questions confidently, posed by their own social worker. It's clear the young person is being "groomed" but yet still nothing can be done. Quite sad if you ask me..... Edited to add yes the person is over 18

Thanks guys any other advice welcome..... Yes I would say it's more a safeguarding issue!

we are looking for advice please if anybody can help as i know there are many knowledgeable forumites this is about a young person considered to be a vulnerable adult who is planning to travel abroad on their own, without no consultation of any responsible adult. it turned out this person was due to get a flight to america today with only $80 in their pocket! (they missed their flight) the young person has a key worker, a mencap support worker , a social worker & lives in supported accomodation. concerns were raised with the social worker & it seems the social worker has allowed this trip to go ahead. it seems this person is being manipulated by their friend in america & is possibly being told what to do. does anybody know if there is any way to stop this vulnerable adult from travelling abroad on their own unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult? there are concerns raised with this young person who is refusing to listen to anybody...... Thanks in advance

If you ask me childcare costs for two children can pay a bloody mortgage! Childcare costs are extortionate, most of all it annoys me that the staff get paid peanuts!
