i'm in.... i can donate stuff but unfortunately don't have transport. Update.... Luckily a friend of mine went up to that side of town & was able to collect stuff from me. I was able to fill up his car with a few blow up beds, toiletries, clothes, shoes, food, bedding etc He's struggling to get around in the area as most roads are closed.... But we are hoping he'll soon find people to give the stuff to.

all stops are now compulsory It makes sense to stop only when requested to do so or when the bell rings... Obviously you need to be aware of any elderly or disabled people getting on or off the bus Ever been on a bus where the driver stops at every stop regardless of anybody getting on or off? How annoying..... Many passengers complain about this. This is often complained about during the less busy periods, ie. school holidays, bank holiday periods This is either because the driver is doing their job sticking to the rule book or the are early. Re the speed limit.... I always try to drive 20mph or less. when passengers complain about how slow you are driving or why you are driving so slow, I have to remind about the speed limit & also to complain to tfl. Unfortunately like anything in life you can't win no matter what you do. This is an overly demanding job which pays very little for the responsibility you have.

Could a neighbour help out?

I went to hanush a few weeks back with the intention of grabbing a bite to eat but I saw no star rating on the door. I checked online & it was a very recent one star rating. I always check for star ratings before I eat anywhere.

Toys for charity - where's best?
sweetgirl replied to Undiscovered's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have dropped loads of toys in the past few years to Kch A&E & also long stay children's wards..... Toni & guy I think. They are very grateful for them, only thing is they want stuff they can wipe down/disinfect. I very recently took a suitcase full of GCSE books to the hospital school. I know they'll be appreciated -

sweetgirl replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
hi james, I wanted to bring something to your attention. There is a lamppost on Whateley Rd, just outside the new Harris school which is leaning to one side. It is currently in a seriously dangerous position. Please check it out before somebody gets hurt. Thanks -

Le Nid - nursery on East Dulwich Grove
sweetgirl replied to Amytkwy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
As a parent whose child has been to two local nurseries I would suggest vetting nurseries very carefully. In my experience I find SOME parents think a nursery is great & drop off & collection point for their children without really knowing what is going on. It is a good idea to build up a good relationship with their key workers & see what feedback you get from them. The current nursery my son is in, there's a child who bites if he doesn't get his own way. This has been going on since September. I previously made an issue about as my son got a nasty bite from this child. The then manager, who is currently on maternity leave didn't do very much other than fob me off. Many children have been bitten in the nursery & I feel nothing practical has been done about it. I even witnessed the same child nearly wack a baby round the head twice in a matter of seconds. I did tell the child's parents about it. But the biggest question I have is how does anybody really know if any of the babies are getting hurt by this child, after all they are not able to speak out! Most recently my son had a nasty gash to his head whilst playing & they didn't even bother to take him to hospital. When I came in to collect him I went straight to A&E. If that's not enough their staffing levels are so low sometimes they would struggle in an emergency situation. Yesterday morning there were 9children in the nursery with two workers. Whilst the manager was in the office with me it was one staff for 9 children which included babies! I have to say it seems most parents are not bothered about the care their children receive. I say this because a meeting was arranged regarding the biting issue & only 5 parents turned up out of maybe 30-40 children who attend the nursery. Thankfully my child does speak out. -
I have rung round a number of private clinics as I would like to have my son vaccinated, unfortunately nobody has any! I understand it is just one company who produces the vaccine & have been told by a few private clinics they all have waiting lists! Health hub in herne hill have closed their waiting list & they are not expecting any supplies for at least 2-3months. They told me they are getting one call a minute regarding this vaccine! I sure would like to know if anybody knows of any clinics who may still have the vaccine......

My son has been through something similar since Friday.... On & off Collected him on Friday morning from school, still ill on Saturday.... By Sunday he was getting on my nerves again as usual! Sunday evening abit poorly again, Monday still not 100% but went to nursery. Again Tuesday not 100% but went to nursery. When I collected him Tuesday I was told he was very quite n weak throughout the day & had only eaten abit of yogurt throughout the day. On Tuesday evening he went to bed straight after nursery, about 6.30pm, then he didn't wake up til 11am Wednesday morning!!!! Bit much I thought, but seems to know be ok. Throughout these days he didn't have a temperature, only once when I gave him some paracetamol syrup. Fingers crossed its all over!
