  1. A youngster being questioned.... Didn't look like it was anything major To be honest from what I saw, there was way too much police there than what was necessary
  2. I happened to be online yesterday afternoon & kept seeing these weird threads popping up.... It didn't look like a virus.... Somebody kept registering & posting crap! I think they need a job! :-)
  3. This is what I posted about yesterday afternoon in the lounge
  4. goodness.... the posts have been deleted already!
  5. somebody seems to be very bored this afternoon posting all sorts of useless threads on the forum.... i'm sure all the posts will be deleted soon enough!
  6. Any thoughts on the new data protection act which is due to come into force later this month?
  7. Is closing for a refit I understand they are building an upper floor! May be of interest to some of you.......
  8. Just putting some information out there which some of you may find useful. I recently enquired about malaria tablets as I will soon be needing them for my vacation. I understand malloff is the most expensive on the market which many pharmacies are selling. I enquired at my gp about the best way to go about getting the tablets. I require mefloquine for my vacation, for which I can get a private prescription for from my surgery. I enquired in 4 different pharmacies how much it would cost for 14 mefloquine. Sainsburys quoted me ?38.15 The pharmacy attached to the lister in Peckham, Peckham Road, quoted me ?39.15 Morrisons in Peckham quoted me ?30.43 Boots Peckham quoted me in excess of ?50 (I can't remember exactly how much they said!) These were all a lot cheaper than malloff which many pharmacies sell over the counter. This is just a FYI post to let you know if you didn't already.... Hope it will be useful for you.

Not everyone can afford a house, Especially with the extortionate prices nowadays! It's a matter of time before people start to lose their houses & become homeless!
  10. From my personal experience I would say go with your instincts! Ofsted ratings are not always the best to go by. Previous experience with ofsted officers showed there was a lot they didn't know about the providers staff, by this I mean staff weren't dbs checked & ofsted hadn't picked up on it until I told them! This is not about piplings but advice to any childcare place you may choose. The nursery I am referring to was eventually closed down & quite a few parents were upset with me & tried all sorts to reopen it. They even involved our local MP! Bottom line is check it out yourself, talk to staff individually to see how they feel about the setting & their employment there..... That will tell you all you need to know!
  11. Just an information post to all parents who have kids in bright horizons It has come to my attention there was a major gas leak there on Wednesday 21st March To my understanding no parents were informed neither were the children & staff removed from the premises! If my child was there I would've liked to have been informed.
  12. Smartphones are not necessary in school... How about a basic phone for school & if you choose to, keep the smartphone for home? When my son is old enough I would like him to have a way of contacting me.... Going to the office to make a call doesn't always work! Just my opinion......
  13. Updated to say Returned to owner
  14. I have just found a pass holder in the name of quddus. If you know the owner plse contact me with the colour of the wallet & I can return it to you. I know the person it belongs to & always see them around so I can give it to them when I see them... But they may need it now!
  15. Generally I don't open my door unless I'm expecting someone. This evening someone knocked on my door. He told me there's 51% of households in this area being overcharged by utility companies. I told him I wasn't interested in saving money... He sounded abit uncomfortable whilst I was talking to him through the door but I didn't care. I'm really not interested in answering my door to some nonce whilst I'm having family time!
  16. A car has crashed into a lamppost at the roundabout. Doesn't Look like anybody has been hurt too badly..... No ambulance or police cars present Just the police cordon & traffic flowing as normal.
  17. So what if they reserve their parking spot! If you want to park there just move the bins! Be prepared for any comebacks as there may well be... It's especially annoying when you see people who dont live in the area clogging up the road with their vehicles, making use of local parking facilities! This is probably the only area which doesn't yet have cpz!
  18. About to find out if it's affected our school!!!!
  19. I have talk talk.... Generally good I say. But then again I only use it for general surfing... No downloading of game playing etc. I would say though, if you do have a problem it's a nightmare trying to get it resolved. Been with talk talk for at least 10 yrs... Had possibly two spells of no internet for around a week to 10days... & yes what I consider to be shitty customer service! I did have a chat with the dude who came to rectify my last problem, which was sometime last year.... He told me all the services from the different providers are pretty much the same & they also all use the same contractor who come out to deal with issues customers have. It seems they are all just as good/bad as each other! Just to add my cousin has (I think) faster fibre direct which is more expensive but he says it's definitely faster/better.... Especially if you use gaming or downloading etc.
  20. Hiya James..... Gentle reminder, any more news on the bins? Thanks
  21. One of the most important things to look out for in a nursery is if there is a high staff turnover! If there is then it's a no-no for me! The kids will constantly have to get used to new staff, which I believe is not beneficial for them. I also feel that means the staff are not well looked after or do not feel appreciated..... If that were the case how would they look after the children in their care??? Would the staff really put their all into it.....
  22. H&m have textile recycling bins.... They even give you a ?5 voucher towards your next shop over ?25!
