  2. Sorry to share a link with the truly dreadful Sun but this is worth reading as Ronaldo and Messi are finally catching up with my hero Jimmy Greaves goal scoring record. The fact is Ronaldo is just eight goals behind him so will at his goal scoring rate probably surpass it in a matter of weeks. It's worth remembering just what a genius he was on the pitch. To me he is a true footballing god who has been under appreciated in the country of his birth. And for me is better than both Messi and Ronaldo who played at a time when defenders kicked lumps out of forwards and played on crap pitches, not like the bowling green lawns they play on today. Jimmy Greaves - he's one of our own. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2574417/dave-kidd-column-jimmy-greaves-is-the-no1-cristiano-ronaldo-and-lionel-messi-are-still-chasing/ More here from the Huffington Post if you don't want to feel soiled by reading The Sun. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/cristiano-ronaldo-about-to-surpass-legendary-jimmy_us_587726d8e4b0f8a725448506

  7. Good for you. I'm not on medication or insulin either. Ooh, and I've just come back from Kings for my yearly retinal eye screening. I don't half fancy a pint now.

He's got his own 'diabetic team'. Incredible. What a Fox! What's the dilemma? Is it that you regularly have to take them out for a drink on a team bonding session?
  9. JohnL Wrote: Is it just drinkers that believe your liver can repair itself if it has a rest. * To a certain extent that is true. It can and it does. For instance, at 25 I was told to stop by my GP for six months as my liver was the size of a rugby ball. Caused by my excessive drinking. I stopped for about four months and it seemed to do the trick. On the other hand I've lost half a dozen friends to acute liver failure (cirrhosis of the liver). They were all alcoholics, all of them.
  10. Not wanting to denigrate any of you drying out or wanting to cut down your alcohol consumption but this an amusing read and on trend. Oh goodness me, did I just say 'on trend'. I did, didn't I? Well tie me to a tree and call me Brenda. Now read on - http://deserter.co.uk/2015/02/5-reasons-dryanuary-sucks/

  17. With a nice warm glass of seasonal mulled wine in my hand I mulled things over about any New Year resolutions I could make for myself for the coming year and thought I'd stop procrastinating about procrastination and fully procrastinate with focus and concentration from the very start. But since then I've stopped to ponder about the wisdom of that.?

  19. Indeed, I'm as baffled as the rest of us how she got an award. She probably has a team of designers to do her work for her. She just adds her name to the designs. Hopeless woman.
