  1. Arf! It'd just be history repeating itself. The last time we had similar circumstances (recession, lack of jobs, no money) the punk scene exploded but that was 35 years ago. More musical rehashing if does. There's always room for expressing the times though.
  2. Sadly, you're all right Jack. I can't see it happening.
  3. And Marlon King, sacked at Wigan Athletic after being jailed for assaulting a woman in a nightclub.
  4. Never mind Ballotelli. David Silva - best player on the pitch by a country mile.
  5. Well, I 8-2 to admit it Red Devil but by jove you're right.
  6. The Housemartins - and thank fuck for that. Oh! Just read somewhere that Liam Gallagher would now be up for an Oasis reunion. Beady Eye, obviously not making the big bucks he expected. Jeez! Hasn't he got a boutique to run?
  7. Says a lot Wee Quinnie, seeing as Ganapati is in Peckham, doesn't say a lot for the restaurants in East Dulwich; which are, mostly run-of-the-mill.
  8. I think *Bob* has made a good point here. If Barcelona was down on the strip rather than at the other end of the Lane I'm sure it would be more popular. It would certainly be on a par with the other "crap restaurants" that are constantly full. Having said that, it's down the end of my street and I've not been in since January. I had a good night in there by the way but it's not a regular haunt of mine. As for 22 I've not been in there at all. I loved it when it was Bolands though and was a regular then.
  9. Thanks for the clip Mac. Naturally I watched part two as well. Luckily in our history we had Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa, two great Argentine players who weren't dirty cheating bastards. As for the song, well it's before my time. I've always heard Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane since I first started going there aged ten. Good result for us tonight as well. Some of our kids are coming on nicely. Rose, Livermore and particularly Carroll all put in good performances. COYS!
  10. Hmmm... didn't know that and I've been going there since '68. No one sings it these days though and I don't think they play it anymore. Wiki is not always strictly accurate.
  11. UB40 RELEASE STATEMENT FOLLOWING BANKRUPTCY CASE Birmingham, UK, 19th October, 2011. Following stories in the weekend?s national press, David Harper, manager for UK reggae legends UB40, has released the following statement on behalf of the band: ?There have been some inaccuracies reported in national newspapers which we would like to correct. Despite rumours to the contrary, UB40 has not been made bankrupt. Some individual members of the band have been declared insolvent, but not all members. UB40 wish to assure all of their fans that it is business as usual. To that end, the band will resume the recording sessions for their new album at the end of October, with a view to it being released in early 2012. Touring plans are also well underway for next year, with dates already scheduled for January & February in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland & Spain. UB40 would like to thank their loyal fans from around the world for their continued messages of support.?
  12. No.
  13. We don't need a singing section at White Hart Lane. We just sing and not just when we're winning.
  14. Whoops! EDF not EDL. Sorry bit pickled. Night night.
  15. Eh? English Defence League? Cunts!
  16. Some refreshing honesty from a footballer who admits to playing for the money and not the shirt. Tell that to the badge kissers. Assou-Ekotto tells it like it is.
  17. Hmmm.... yeah. What's happened?
  18. Oh Annette dear, fret not that's how I am the rest of the week.
  19. I always walk around with a smug, self congratulatory arrogance when I'm walking around East Dulwich on a Saturday afternoon. It's the only way to blend in don'tcha know.
  20. You think? Hmmm..... been reincarnated. Actually, I remember Van de Vaart scoring a very similar goal last season. I can't remember who it was against but that was given too.
  21. Complete bollocks as usual. It is not going to be a hotel. It is not closing. End of.
  22. Once again Wayne Rooney has proved what a petulant little shit he can be. He can be a great player at times but last night he was very poor. Just goes to show he still hasn't matured and is easy to wind up in these big game competitions. Wonder if his dad had a bet on him being sent off.
  23. I think the scoreline flattered England. We were rubbish.
