Exactly Jezza. My own mum didn't start breeding until she was into her 30s and had my younger brother at the age of 43. Though it was for health reasons she started quite late.

I can't keep up with all these acronyms. Anyway, I'm the wrong side of 50, single and not quite moribund yet (though that's debatable) I'd like to think I haven't been whooped with the ugly stick and have hung on to some of my youthful good looks and virility. This thread has got me thinking it's probably time I took a wife. I'm just not sure whose yet.

Andros Townsend to Crystal Palace (?13m) with Dwight Gayle going in the other direction for ?10m. I hope they both do well at their new respective clubs. Definitely good business for the Palace. I like Townsend, thought he was a bit unlucky at Spurs but his strop at one of the coaches did for him there. He should definitely have gone to the Euros too.

I don't think that's such a bad thing. He knows the job and if it wasn't for Beckham getting sent off in '98 we could have quite possibly gone a lot further in that competition. I know he wasn't known for his man management skills but I'd hope that he has learnt from that. Glenn's a very talented coach and the players will have respect for him. I'd have liked to have seen Southgate given the job but he doesn't want it.

That's great. I'd be proud as punch if English fans could win something like that.

One thing that is clear is that Hodgson has been tactically inept in two tournaments and against Iceland he was out thought tactically by a manager who is a part-time dentist.

Agree, RD. I'd been saying throughout the whole tournament that Kane needed to play on his own up front with Alli tucked in behind him. Too late now. Hodgson was always going to to try to accommodate Rooney and Vardy because of popular opinion. Harry looked shattered, having not had a rest for two years. Worst of all though was Hodgson complete ineptness tactically and very poor decision making (Wales apart), stroking his chin on the touch line dithering.
