  2. Popped down there this arvo. It wasn't open though the sign says it's opening tonight, they've still got the builders in and it looked a bit of a mess. The signage looks even worse close up. Dead shabby. Oh, sorry shabby chic's in innit. I'll give it another whirl maybe next week, give them a chance to get fully operational.

The BBC never sacked him. Just cancelled Top Gear. He lost nothing out of this. He walked pretty much straight into a much more lucrative contract. Kerching!
  4. Harsh but fair. Especially for a cunt like him.
  5. Looks seriously shite. Terrible signage. Hoping for a lot better inside. Might pop in later or tomorrow arvo to give it the once over.
  6. Personally, I'd cut his balls off, shove 'em in his mouth and sow it up.
  7. Looks like piss, tastes like piss, makes you piss.
  8. Where Greggs used to be, I think.
  9. I think that will be a case of joining one queue so you can queue up at another. Such stupidness is mad. But as Otta has already mentioned I blame the people blatantly bringing in cases of lager. That's taking the piss.

Bought some today and it worked a treat. As if the condensation marks had never been there at all.

Think I'm definitely going to enjoy The Night Manager far more though. Who'd ever thought Hugh Lawrie could ever play such nasty piece of work. I shall be glued to this one.
  12. Good start to The Night Manager on Sunday night on the Beeb.
  13. Thanks RD. I'll give it a whirl.
  14. I've little problem with condensation in a couple of rooms. What's the best way to clean it away.

  16. Ha ha! Yeah, that carpet was particularly shite.
  17. It was Otta but even before then there were two rooms out back, the stage was directly opposite as you walked through and there was a pool room where the stage is now.
  18. Indeed. They could utilise the space in just the same way that the Ivy House does.

I presume The Half Moon would have > to have the same. Exactly! Most pubs that have a music licence have a booker/events manager. I've been going to the Half Moon for over 40 years and seen some great bands there. Hopefully, that will continue rather than it being another bland corporate restaurant/hotel with bar attached which is how the Crown & Greyhound (The Dog) will be once it finally re-opens.

I've lived in Dulwich and some surrounding areas all my life and I've always frequented the Half Moon and other places in Herne Hill too. Probably much more so than Peckham. Anyway, it's good to have the choice and The Half Moon with it's entertainment policy of music, comedy and drama has always been the main pull for me and hopefully it will stay that way.
  21. As the most outrageously gifted footballer I've ever seen, George is up there with the all-time greats. Just a shame he never graced a World Cup finals.
  22. Rooney isn't fit to polish Bobby Charlton's boots. I'm old enough remember what a fabulous player he was. The drop of the shoulder and thunder in both boots. Pure class. Total legend. Fantastic player. One of the best but not quite George, who simply was the best ever.
  23. Close. I love MoPo. But my heart belongs to Dele Alli.
