  1. I can make just as good burgers at home. It's not difficult. It's dead simple.
  2. .
  3. Great result. Five wins on the trot. Still unbeaten away from home since the opening day of the season. The best defensive record in the division and the best goal difference. So proud of our boys. I love MoPo. x
  4. I called it too.
  5. Yes! Get in. Go on you Spurs!
  6. Yep! Zero points for me so far.

    So sad

Poetic justice. The fucker got his just desserts. "What's this whole world comin to Things just ain't the same Any time the hunter gets captured by the game." Smokey Robinson.
  8. Yeah, I always think the worse when I'm at White Hart Lane. I can't relax and enjoy the game as much as I do at Dulwich Hamlet. I feel far less pressure at Champion Hill. Spurs can be three-nil up with five minutes to go and I still think the other team can snatch it. And in those last five minutes I'm having a series of heart attacks and begging the referee to blow the final whistle. I think it's best for my health and my wallet if I just stay away from now on.
  9. Just need some heart failure chips to go with that.

I admit we're looking good but we've been here before and you get used to disappointment. It's the hope that kills you. Spurs probably have the toughest run in of all the reams in contention. We still have play Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd, plus three London derbies in Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham to play, let alone the teams that will be fighting for their lives to stay up. We're also still in the FA Cup and after this weekend we're back to playing Thursday - Sunday football once our Europa League games resume against Fiorentina next week. Of course I'd love it to happen. I've waited long enough and I have my fingers and toes crossed. As you may have noticed I've tipped Arsenal for the title and hopefully that'll be the kiss of death for them. But at the moment the way I see it, it is Leicester's to lose but I reckon Le Arse will just pip Spurs to it because since Arsene Wenger has been their manager the bastards always finish above us. Grrr! We live in hope though.
  11. I thought it was funny, but then I would. Come on PD lighten up. It was a good joke.
  12. You'd think with all that TV money coming into the clubs they could afford to drop their prices. The more the fans complain with direct action the better.
  13. Fecking plane spotters.
  14. Spot on PD. Premiership football clubs treat their customers like shit. Prices in Germany and Spain are far more realistic and far more affordable. It's the fans that pay their wages, they should remember that.
  15. Popped in over a week ago for a couple of early snifters with an old girlfriend. We liked it a lot though we spent most of the time in the fabulous outside space out the back, which is a bit like being in a Bedouin tent and we could happily suck on our smokes to our hearts content. Inside, the furniture did resemble school dinners but the ale selection was fairly impressive. I didn't peruse the wine list as we weren't there to eat. I imagine that is similar to the The Great Exhibition and The Old Nun's Head and if so wouldn't have much to grumble about if they were the same. Though the barstaff were very friendly I'd have liked them to have been more knowledgeable about the craft beers on offer. I was happy to sample a few though and liked what I had. Unfortunately, craft beers are bloody expensive wherever you go so it's a good job they have plenty of real ales on that are more reasonably priced. All in all a vast improvement on previous incarnations of this old boozer and I'll definitely be going back.

  17. Some of 'em boozed in locals before the match. Those were the days.
  18. From today's Popbitch. Adam Johnson wants to play in the Chinese League, where Wai-Too Yeung is just a name. But instead, following his admission of guilt, he's been sentenced... to a three-year contract extension with Sunderland. (Sorry, all these Adam Johnson jokes are getting a bit old. Which is probably why he doesn't like them...)

  20. I've not been to Spurs this season either. Just can't afford it anymore. In fact I didn't make a home game last season either which was the first time in over 30 years. I'm a regular at Dulwich Hamlet now and have been since we won promotion a few seasons back. More local and more affordable.
  21. An old friend of mine has just reminded me that Terry Naylor; a regular in the Spurs back four in the early 70s, used to live opposite him in Crystal Palace Road from about 70/71 onwards. Can you imagine a Premier League footballer living in a little terraced house nowadays? This also being at a time when East Dulwich wasn't as smart as it is now. How times have changed.
  22. A banjolele.
