Yup, you're probably right Brendan. Gone are the idiosyncratic, somewhat bohemian bars like The Drum and to a lesser extent Inside 72. One can only live in hope.
Indeed! Credit crunch and all that. The past is nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there. As for the future I think I'll be needing an enormous balloon glass of cognac and a big fat spliff to contemplate that.
If you say so Keef. Never been a big fan of Mexican cuisine myself but the place always seemed to be empty and you know you can't keep a business going if you have no customers.
I always remember it as being completely empty. It needs to be totally reinvented. A refit might cover up a multitude of sins from the outside but if it doesn't get it's act together on the inside it will very quickly close down for good.
