Yeah, it's bloody terrible the Palais has shut down, was one of the best places to see bands in London, went to many a great gig there over the years. Last one was Primal Scream a couple of years ago. Top night!

Yeah! Squeeze have got a great set list Keef and MW74 but it's at Hammersmith Apollo, f**king awful place. Vowed never to go there again a long time ago.

Good call Keef, was thinking of doing something like this myself but you've beaten me to it. I first saw the Pogues supporting Elvis Costello at the old Hammersmith Palais in '82 or '83 and they completely tore the place apart. Elvis was so boring compared to them. Saw them again at one of those Xmas gigs at Brixton Academy that you're talking about in the early 90s and it was like one massive party, brilliant atmosphere and full of people in Celtic shirts. Great gig and everyone pissed as puddings. Marvellous!:))

In a very delicate state today. Couldn't make it down there MW74 as lots of other things happening but it sounds like you had a good time. Had a very very debauched weekend myself, periwinkled and penguin powdered. I'm feeling absolutely terrible but it was worth it. That's me off the sauce for the rest of the week.
