  1. I really liked the old Wishing Well much much more than the New Victoria Inn... not my cup of tea at all, so I never go there now.
  2. It's also nice that you can sit outside HB&B and enjoy an ale or two now that the sun's out.

Yeah but let's not forget Roberto Soldado's 81 in 141 for Valencia before he came to Spurs. It's a whole different ball game in the Premiership as Bobby soon found out. If you can't cut it in the Premier League it can very soon swallow you up and spit you out again.
  4. "Firmino, who has scored 47 goals in 151 games for Hoffenheim, becomes the Reds' second most expensive player."
  5. Another ?29 million spent at Liverpool. They're certainly splashing the cash again. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33250535

  8. I think sub-editors are a rare and dying breed these days. In fact, I'm not even sure if they even exist anymore. They just shove it through a spell check these days, make sure it fits the page and Bob's yer uncle. I will pop in soon when I get a chance but I'd feel a bit of a berk introducing myself as Jah Lush.
  9. Oh dear, not the Barking Toad, Foghorn Billy. At least Charlotte can hit a note.
  10. Have you read the thread AQM? Louisa complains about one cinema being more pricy than another cinema, argues for and against them, drawing ridiculous comparisons and spouting the usual relentless drivel that she is want to do like an old scratched record and then it turns out she hasn't even bothered to go to either of the venues that we've been discussing on two threads! That's no experience of either venue to draw proper comparisons with. It deserves ridicule and our withering scorn and I'm sure she's having just as much fun winding us all up as "Bob* is taking the piss out of her tired old shtick.

  14. Can blue men sing the whites?

  18. There are many to choose from Ye Old Cherry Tree, The Hamlet, Cheers and The Cherry Tree again. I may have missed one out but I'm sure someone may be able to tell us what it was.
  19. I bumped into the son of the now previous owner in The Plough last week who told me it will be having a 500 grand refit so I imagine it will be quite some time before it reopens.
  20. East Grinstead - your window to the world.
  21. I think its about ?32 for a check-up and then it depends on what sort of treatment you need. They sorted out my ingrowing toenails a few months back. Two appointments cost me about ?120. Worth every penny as I was in quite a bit of pain and they are fine now.
  22. Otta Wrote: > > Unfortunately Rogers will be using it, so we'll > probably end up with the shite we spent the Suarez > money on. Not so, Otta. I believe that's been taken out of his hands now because of the shite he bought with the Saurez money. Whereas at Spurs where the directors wasted the Bale money, Pochettino along with his assistant Paul Thingamejig (forgotten his surname, his colleague that he worked with at Southampton) are now being trusted with the transfer money and quietly getting a few deals done. So far a centre back and a right back have arrived plus Delli Ali who we bought from Milton Keynes Dons last season will be joining us and I think he could turn out to be really good. I'd like to see a top class defensive midfielder and creative one too with a bit of flair plus another top quality forward with a bit of experience that Harry Kane can learn from and take a bit of pressure of him too. Players who can go - Kaboul, Chiriches, Adebayor, Capoue, Lennon, Townsend, Stambouli, Holtby and Soldado.
  23. About 1986/87 I reckon.
  24. Mandies were Mandrax and they were rather lovely but were banned in this country in 1974. The American equivalent is called Quaalude (Methaqualone) a very popular drug back in the 70s. Nothing to do with fizzy drinks. They're mentioned in Ian Dury's song Billericay Dickie. I bought a lot of brandy when I was courting Sandy took eight to make her randy and all I had was shandy another thing with Sandy what often came in handy was passing her a 'Mandy' she didn't half go bandy so you ask Joyce and Vicki if I ever took the mickey I'm not a flipping thicky I'm Billericay Dickie and I'm doing very well. Oooh.. good excuse to play it.
